Hmmm... this is hard. I agree either with ErinBaderin quesetion re: what type of experience you want. Knowing what kind of travelers you are would help. I actually went to Morocco for a week and had a great time, and I didn't feel rushed.

Here's my list (I have not been to any of these places, but I think they might be interesting ideas for you given parameters)

-Portugal (agree with ErinBaderin)
-Bermuda (no Zika since much farther north. They're high season is the summer so you need to book now)
-Croatia (Dalmatian coast)
-Canary Island/Mallorca/Ibiza
-Canadian Martime area

Ireland, Australia, Fiji/Bora Bora, or just a week NYC/Boston would be great.

@Meowkers: We did like Portugal! We spent 3 days in Lisbon and then rented a car and drove to Lagos for another 3 days, stopping off on our way in Sintra. It was a great trip! (My husband and I also got engaged on that vacation so I remember it fondly). If you go, I encourage you to drink as much vinho verde as you can - one of my favourite memories is having a daily happy hour in Lagos, sharing a bottle of wine and snacks.

I just booked a trip to the Canary Islands. Prices are great from NYC, there is a ton of environmental diversity there (hiking, volcanoes, beaches, sand dunes, etc.) and theres no zika.

@Meowkers: What time of year will you be traveling? I love the Morocco idea (we did Marrakech, Fez and Tangiers in 10 days), but I wouldn't go there over the summer, too hot. Portugal is fantastic as a few people have mentioned (we've been to Lisbon and just recently Porto, two great places). Spain is also wonderful if you haven't been - Madrid/Seville is great for a week, or a week in Barcelona would be lots of fun. Scandinavia is great too - in a week you could go to Copenhagen and Stockholm, two of our favorite cities, and lovely in the summer if that's when you're traveling.

@Meowkers: we actually went to Iceland on our honeymoon and LOVED it. we are hoping to return soon.

@Meowkers: you'll love it! we are hoping to stop over on our way to Sweden this summer. We went in February last time, so I am of no help when it comes to clothes! I thought the Blue Lagoon was really cool despite it being a tourist trap, so it's still worth it to me! We used Reykjavik as our base and did day trips out from there, which worked really well. It's also a pretty neat city, so it's worth planning at least a day for exploring there. If you can, do an airbnb or something like that because food is REALLY expensive there (since there is so much land that is covered by glacier/volcano, the land isn't great for growing), so you can save some money by eating breakfast at home and packing a lunch for the day. We hiked on a glacier, which was amazing.
