we are thinking of a vacation for next year and I just wondered do you guys take your car seats when you fly outside the country?

Yes, we bring a car seat. We will likely do this until our son meets the height and weight requirements for a Ride Safe Travel Vest.

So far I have only taken her to the UK and didn't need to take the carseat because I got one from my sis. Anywhere else, I probably would.

@plantains: It is a vest that kids can wear while riding in the car, using the seat belt, that eliminates the car seat and uses the regular seating in the car.
It's available on Amazon, it's called Ride Safer.

These things are GREAT because they do not expire, so I regularly stalk to see if I can get one on clearance or something. No such luck though.
