I attempted it, but ended up with a CBAC. I blogged about it:http://www.hellobee.com/2013/03/13/not-natural-my-cbac/ Where we live it is not common or encouraged. I would encourage you to do lots of research about all of your options, so you can make an informed choice about what you would like to do for your next birth. Going forward, there are no providers in my area who would allow me to try for a hospital VBAC, and I would feel uncomfortable trying to do another HBAC after 2 c-sections (and my midwife would not assist, which is another reason I just don't think I'd try). So... I think I would find a hospital that was willing to do a family-centered cesarean (see here: http://www.wcsh6.com/news/watercooler/article/245535/108/Family-focused-C-sections). There are so many things you can do proactively to ensure you have as close to the experience you want, no matter your ultimate choice.

@Mrsbells: It used to be alot more common, but then providers began inducing & augmenting them making their risks higher so everyone deemed them dangerous & stopped doing them.

Now that it's known that inducing/augmenting them raises the risks & without that factor risk is relatively low, the recommendation changed again.... now it's a matter of providers being open to them.

I had a VBAC- did lots of research, changed providers at the last minute and made it happen. Even though my c-section was not that bad, it was really a redeeming experience for me (and I hope to do it again). I never got around to writing on HB but the full story is on my blog.
