I have never wanted my period to start so bad in my life. I got all my drugs in the mail earlier this week, took the class this morning...I am ready! But this is day 34 of my cycle and no sign of AF yet. I had some bloodwork done today to see if I actually ovulated. Waiting sucks!

Ugh I always hated that part! For our first IUI I needed provera to induce a period, it took almost the full 10 days after I stopped it for AF to finally show up. Hopefully yours shows up soon and you can get the ball rolling!

@ineebee: I finally got my period on what would have been cycle day 36. I started gonal f last night on day 3. Mine is in a pen. I was a little freaked out but I didn't even feel it going in. This is my 1st iui, we should be getting inseminated around the same time if all goes well. Good luck! Keep me posted!

@ineebee: This fri (cd7). After that I was told I'd need to come every day or every other day. By 7:30am at the latest. Should be interesting w a 2yo! How often do you go in for monitoring?
@marionberry: AF came! I'm so glad it worked for you. I was having second thoughts about not going straight to ivf so it's nice to hear from people who had iui success.

Maybe it's the difference between your injectibles and the Clomid I'm taking, but I only have to go in on CD12 and then depending on how my follicles are doing, maybe once more in a couple days. After getting the green light for the trigger shot, then I'll come in a third time for the IUI.
@Marionberry: I PRAY that it happens for us on the first try like it was for you! The early morning appointments and poor DH feeling like a sperm machine are no fun. It really does take the fun out of baby-making.

@ineebee: oh yeah, I guess clomid wouldn't need as frequent monitoring. We need to come by 7:30 bc u/s is reserved for IF patients, and I guess the nurses need the results back early enough to call all their patients by the end of the day.
@marionberry: we are approved for 3 cycles, but depending on how this goes we may go straight to ivf if this cycle fails.

@ineebee: That's the same protocol I was on pretty much. I really hope it works out for you on the first try too! And yes, it totally sucked for DH more than me. He hated having to give his sample on a specific day at a specific time and it's certainly not your typical baby making experience.

Had my day 7 bloodwork and u/s today. I have one mature follicle on my right side with "many more following," "many more following" also on the left. My medication is being downgraded. Estrogen at 156. Need to go back for more testing on Sunday
at 8:30 am (but could have been even earlier). It's working! It's working!

@mrsmate: How is this cycle going for you? I went in for monitoring CD12, CD15 and CD18, and then finally had my IUI this morning (CD19). I had one mature follicle at 19.1mm. Just one! I hope it's enough.

@ineebee: thx for checking in! I'm in tww now. We did the iui on Saturday (cd15) so today is 4dpi. I had 2 mature follicles with several more not quite 15mm, and DD's count was 40million. Good luck! Hope we both get lucky!

@tequiero21: Thanks! It's not looking good for me tho. I've been spotting for the past two days, and today it's even heavier, though not quite AF. I had some cheapo HPTs that were going to expire so I tested CD24-26 (9-11dpi) and they were all BFNs, which I know is early but I didn't see ANYTHING, not even the faintest hint of a line. I know there's a miniscule chance it's implantation bleeding bc it's only CD27 but in my mind I'm already planning for IUI#2 next month.

@mrsmate: Boo to AF! Stay away! Did your RE have you on progesterone suppositories or anything like that?
For my last cycle, something that made the impending AF a little easier to take was planning a really special date night - with plenty of cocktails and wine! - with DH. Definitely not as great as a BFP, but it's still something "positive" so that either way you'll have a smile on your face!
But I'm still crossing my fingers for you!

@ineebee: So AF is officially here
BUT the upside is today was only CD27. I already have a baseline u/s scheduled for Saturday to start IUI#2. By comparison my last cycle was 35 days long. I almost feel relieved bc I'm no longer in TWW and I can move on. I am commiserating by eating a block of cheese.

@mrsmate: I love cheese! But really, that was the positive for me when AF came, that I'd just get to start right over again with an ultrasound a few days later. It at least makes you feel like you're not waiting forever to try again. Best of luck on #2!
