LO has a head cold 
Have any of you used one of the Vick's Vaporizers? Do you like it? Our ped recommended trying it, but I don't want to get out with a sick little one if it's not worth it.

I thought you couldn't use the vaporizers until the baby is over two since they have menthol?
We use the vicks baby rub on the kids' chests and their feet. Idk if it works, but I like to think it does!

I would be worried about using that on a baby, but I guess your doc did OK it. You can also steam up the bathroom and have your LO in there for 10-15 minutes. I also use vicks baby rub on my DD's chest and feet.

My doctor ok'd using the vaporizer, but I used it with the medicine when she had a bad cough. Otherwise, I would just use the humidifier w/o the medicine and that seemed to help her feel better. I also put some vicks on a washcloth and hung it over the side of her crib so that she could get the vapors, but it wouldn't be on her.

We just used the vicks vaporizor without any medicine in it.

my doctor suggested the vicks humidifier too. we have used itboth with and without the menthol flavor. It really does help, its basically just steam if you dont put in the flavor stick. You can also just run the hot shower and hold her in there, but that wastes a lot more water.

Thanks folks. We've been doing the bathroom trick, and it has helped tremendously. I got some of the Vicks baby rub and hopefully we won't need to use the vaporizer. Our house is already so humid that I'm kind of anti-anything that puts more moisture in the air!
