DS is sooo stuffy and won't stop coughing. We already do breathing treatments 3x a day but I fear it might get worse. We have some antibiotics in the fridge too but I really don't want to go that route yet since it seems like its just a baby cold. How was the Vicks on feet worked for your LO? What kind do you get?

We did the vicks on the feet and then put socks over that. We also used a humidifier to keep the room nice and moist so that she can clear out the congestion.ETA: Oh, we also use saline spray in the nose about 30 min before her nap, and then suction her nose right before we put her in the crib.

Loved it. We had a little in the medicine cabinet, so we vicks-ed her feet with socks before bed. Now I use a eucalyptus/tea tree oil mixture and do warming socks at night. Clears everything up in no time.

Thanks @babyboecksmom @prettylizy he is pretty happy I'm just afraid it will evolve since he's only 4.5 months. We have the cold air humidifier blasting! Is there a certain kind of Vicks I should get?

@matador84: We use the vicks in the tub on her feet. But we also use the vicks warm air humidifier and put the liquid vicks or the strips in it.

@prettylizy: does the eucalyptus/tea tree oil work just as well as Vicks? Where do you buy it?
Does the Vicks just help them sleep or does it help break up the congestion as well?

@matador84: Make sure you get baby Vicks and not regular. The menthol isn't good for their respiratory system.

Baby vicks works wonders! When DD is sick I apply to feet with socks her chest and back. It helps open up the sinuses.
