Do you have a video camera and do you use it a lot to take video of your kiddo? LO1 has a musical coming up in a couple of weeks that I would love to record (20 minutes long), but I'm not sure if I should buy a video camera or just do it from my DSLR.

6 years ago we had a flip video camera and then a Kodak version. The quality was good enough, but video cameras have come a long way since then. I think a DSLR should do the trick for recording a musical. I also see a lot of people use GoPro cameras, which would be useful if you travel a lot.
