We had this video monitor (http://www.amazon.com/Infant-Optics-Digital-Monitor-Vision/dp/B0052QYLUM/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1375057340&sr=1-2) and it served us well, but one too many falls has killed it 
I really want a monitor that can pan and zoom from the parent unit, and obviously I want to sepnd as little as possible. Does anyone love/hate their monitor? Please share!

Love our Motorola monitor! Ours doesn't pan but does zoom. I think there is an option that pans too though. Couldn't live without it!

I have a Foscam that I spent <$100 on. I can pan, zoom, and it has 2-way audio. I also splurged on the FoscamPro app (I think it was like $5) on both me and DH's phones. We can control the camera from them, even when we're not home.
I lurve it!
ETA: I'm not sure that it can zoom from the computer but it definitely can on the phone.

We just recently purchased a foscam and love it. I can have the video up on my computer or my phone. I have a phone dock on my bedside table so I can leave the feed up all night long if I want to. DH loves it because he can check in on LO while he is out of town on business. And the price is great!

@Cain13: We can't hear LO from our bedroom unless he's gotten to a hysterical scream, so I leave the app open all night so that I can hear him if he wakes up (phone on the charger, screen facing down onto the nightstand, sound on).

@FutureMrsMcK: Hmm, I love the price and the idea, but I don't have a smart phone... Is there another way to see the video? What happens if your internet is slow or not working that day? Our's goes out often and I'm wondering if we'd be able to use the monitor then in any way.

@Beyond2: that's why we didn't pick the Foscam or another wifi monitor. I have a smartphone but our Internet is iffy sometimes. We got a Motorola, but baby isn't here yet, so I'm really no help...sorry!

I'm a Foscam user and love, love, love it!! You can control all the features on the computer as you would on your smartphone. If your connection is slow, there will be a delay in response time (e.g. you tell it to move left, it'll take a few seconds before it actually moves left).

@Alivoo01: is there a lag in what you're seeing if your connection is slow? That would be my biggest concern...kind of like when Netflix is buffering...

@JamieLee: Unfortunately, yes. However, the sound doesn't seem affected by the slower connection. Just the video.

@Alivoo01: thanks for the info...that's what I suspected. We live in the boonies with DSL Internet, so I'm thinking this type of monitor just wouldn't work for us.

We have a Summer one and it pans and zooms. It was on sale at Target, and cheaper than the one we registered for (Motorola) so we went with it and the only complaint I have is I wish it showed the temperature, so pretty minor complaint!
