Has anyone done a waffle bar before? We're having a small brunch party for family (9-10 adults) for LO's second birthday in a couple of weeks.
Can I make the waffles ahead? Any good ideas for toppings? What else should I serve?

You definitely can make them ahead of time! We just use the bisquick recipe and freeze them. Reheat in the oven or toaster or microwave on defrost.
For toppings you could do strawberries, wiped cream, syrup, chocolate chips, and a small shaker of powdered sugar.
We are doing a new years eve party and I think we are going to do a Yogurt Bar (plain yogurt and toppings) and maybe Oatmeal bar (should be the same toppings as the yogurt).

I have never done a waffle bar before, but I think it’s an *awesome* idea. I heart waffles!!
Topping ideas: maple syrup, bacon crumbles, cooked apples (cooked in cinnamon and butter), fresh fruit, Nuetella, maple glazed bacon crumbles, butter (could do regular and it’s super easy to make flavored butters), fried chicken pieces (chicken and waffles FTW).

@yoursilverlining: Ooh bacon crumbles...I think I'm going to make a cinnamon butter to go on top too. DH is on board so I think it's a go!

I make extra to freeze all the time! I reheat in the oven. You can always under cook them as well.
On top of everyone's suggestions also blueberries!

PPs mentioned all the good toppings already. I'll just suggest making different flavored waffles like a chocolate and pumpkin or sweet potato.
@T.H.O.U.: I love oatmeal! If it's not already on your toppings list Smucker's triple berry preserves and pepitas/ lightly salted pumpkin seeds are yummy.

I do a waffle bar with my bff and her husband when they come over and we always try different waffle recipes. I've found carrot cake and cardamom waffles were a hit.
