Has your grooming gone downhill since you started working from home? I don't always shower and I work in my jammies!

I shower and put on make up but I don't dress up. It is kinda sad but what am I gonna do...sit around, by myself, in nice clothes all day long? Err...no.

I'm not a WAHM, I'm only on maternity leave but my grooming is currently non-existent. I really should try to shower more, I'd probably feel way better.

I have clients come to my house occasionally (I have a small photo studio here) so you would think I would always be dressed nicely but instead I usually spend that last 30 minutes before they show up frantically vacuuming and tidying up. I do do the whole makeup and hair thing though. I'm positive that will go out the window as well though once the baby is here and I start taking clients again

I WAH but not a mom.. and unfortunately I have to get myself ready every day so I can run out and see clients.
Occasionally if I know I'm not going to be seeing any clients I stay in comfy clothes hide behind the computer/phone all day!

I've worked from home very frequently over the last year (and I am officially WAH 3 days a week from next week) and I have been known to take the laptop into bed and work in bed until lunchtime!!! Most of the time I work from home, I panic-shower and dress for the first time that day twenty min before DH gets in from work! Oops!

I try to shower at least once a day and I really have to make an effort to put on clothes other than yoga pants and tees. I feel better if I look better. It sounds superficial, but it's really not!
I don't work, I am a SAHM, but I agree, who am I getting dressed up for in dry clean only clothes? No one but the dry cleaner!

I WAH though not a mom yet...definitely shower and make sure my hair looks good every day, but end up wearing yoga pants some days. Okay, many days. I think part of my obstacle with dressing is that my clothes are either pencil skirts/heels or tees/yoga pants, so I've been on the lookout for cute comfortable clothes. Do those exist?

@spaniellove: yes BUT I find that I am not gifted at putting that look together. I wore suits for many years, then we went business casual and it was tough. At my last job, we could wear jeans and that was even tougher, I thought.

@spaniellove: @looch: yes, what are cute, comfortable clothes that aren't yoga pants? I don't like wearing jeans all day long if I'm just going to be at home sitting at my desk. I'll either wear leggings or yoga pants to be comfy.

@Andrea: I'm so glad you said that; I don't think jeans are comfortable for sitting either! Sometimes I look at J.Crew's Weekend line for inspiration, and they always use jeans/leggings/yoga pants.

@spaniellove: or khakis and cords but I don't like those either!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I don't think I have a pair of khakis in my wardrobe, they're just not my style! I tried, but again, I can't seem to build an outfit around them.
I like pants that are cut like jeans, but in materials like velvet or wool. I really like the Banana Republic Jackson fit pants, they are the best for my body shape and I find the fabrics/prints are pretty good too.
I have one pair of jeans that are comfortable enough for sitting and flying, they're a pair of Gap Long and Lean trouser jeans that I haven't been able to find in the stores since 2009. They're on their absolute last leg and I need a replacement STAT!

@spaniellove: glad someone agrees!
@looch: I used to wear BR pants like that to the office. I think I liked the Martin fit but I can't imagine wearing it at home now. You are pretty dressy!

@Andrea: old habits die hard, I am usually overdressed, but I am calming down, especially when we're hitting the playground, lol.

When I work from home, I may change from my pajamas into some yoga pants, but I definitely keep fuzzy socks and a stretchy headband on. It's not a glamorous day, but it's nice to have those once in awhile. Too many days in a row, though, and I start to feel like a slub. I do shower regularly because I exercise a lot. But sometimes I'll skip a day if I don't do anything

LOL. I am a SAHM and I get dressed up EVERY day. Sometimes a few times! I even go the gym and then get redressed in nice clothes.

i WAH but not a mom yet ... i like to shower and get dressed in at least a t-shirt and jeans to feel ready for the work day. when i know i'll be leaving the house, i'll brush my hair and do something decent with it.
the other day, i thought i was going to be home all day, so i put my hair up in a messy bun. then my family invited me over for dinner. i didn't bother changing because it was a busy day. when i walked into my parents' house, i got a bunch of comments like, "did you just wake up?" "did you not shower today?" "is it really windy outside?" "you look like a crazy lady" ... so no more messy buns for me!

When I WAH all I do is shower, wash my face, brush my teeth, pull back my hair and put on a bra! I tend to still wear PJ pants and a tank top all day long unless I need to go out and run a quick errand. Then I'll put on some concealer/powder and throw on some jeans.
