Hellobee Boards

Hope you don't mind me joining in as I don't have any kids yet. This will be our first, and we've tried the last few months. But, now we're on hold until probably February-ish: 1) because our combined work schedules next year (I can't take maternity leave very easily), and 2) to figure out what's going on with me (no AF for 3 months). We'll start earlier if the doc says it's going to be a hard road for us. Up until DH said he was ready, I was perfectly fine. But once he said okay, now I'm going absolutely nuts.

We're waiting until January/February for financial reasons and for my work schedule timing. I'm mostly okay with it as I'm really juggling everything we're doing now and can't imagine adding more to my plate, but it is frustrating because I thought Our situation would be different and I wouldn't be worried as much about the financial aspect.

Good idea! I've seen WTT threads on other forums too My LO is 9.5 months and we haven't really spoken about when exactly we would like TTC #2, other than it's not going to be when she turns 1, like we originally thought In my head I see it being another year, when she's around 2.

@travelgirl1: sorry for your loss! Hope everything gets on track soon for you!

We're waiting to try for #2. Probably not until the new year at the earliest, but I'm dreaming!

@PermaStudent: Good Luck to you! Hopefully, the wait starts to go a bit faster. I feel like time is crawling. I think I suppressed my baby fever for so long while in school and starting a career that it's coming back with a vengeance now. Have you found anything to take your mind off of it all?

Love to join in! We are waiting to TTC #2. We are currently wavering between spring and fall 2015 for TTC. We need to have our financial ducks in a row, and I'd like to be at a healthier weight!

We are waiting to try for #2. LO is 9 months. We can't make up our minds about the age gap that we'd like. I flip back and forth between wanting to get the newborn stage out of the way sooner and wanting to enjoy more time with LO while it's just her. I think Jan 2015 would be the absolute earliest we'd start.

Love this thread! DD is 22 months old and I am ready to start TTC #2. But DH is not. And it is not totally clear to me when (or if-- sigh) he will be. He is generally resistant to change and I am hoping this is just another example of that. I try to bring it up on a semi-regular basis with the hopes that he will get used to the idea. The waiting is so hard though-- lately whenever I see pregnant women with little ones of similar age to my girl, my heart aches.

We are waiting to try for our first. Right now, we're on schedule to start TTC in October. Our first anniversary is coming up at the end of July. Originally, we'd agreed to wait until at least then, but my grad school schedule pushes us out another couple of months. We are also in the process of selling the townhouse where I lived when I was single, so that's a big financial goal we need to accomplish before a baby comes along. We can't wait too long though - I'll be 36 in October, and he's 37.

@Hoots: thanks! I feel like time is crawling, too, but we have a lot going on this summer to keep us occupied so that helps! I hope you get your AF issues figured out soon... I was having really long and unpredictable cycles for a while, and it sucked! Are you doing anything to stay occupied and keep the baby rabies under control?

@PermaStudent: I wish I was doing something to make time go faster. DH is working full-time and finishing up his MBA, so he's not much help. Sadly, our families are both in the Midwest, and many of my friends scattered after school so I'm starting to run short on things to do by myself. But, my busy season at work is just about ready to gear up. Hopefully, that will do the trick!

Love this thread! We're waiting to try for #2 as well. Our daughter is 9.5 months and we're waiting until after her first birthday to start trying. We're trying to just really enjoy this time as a family of three. I'm getting baby fever though!

@Hoots: ahh, what a small world, we moved to Houston lol. We had been living in NYC for five years when my H got a dream job here. I'd never even been to Texas when he took the job! I do like Houston but it's very different than NYC, so it's definitely been an adjustment. I love having a car again and everything is SO much more affordable here.

@MrsSCB: My SO is also raring to go, and I'm the one holding us back right now (even though I really want to TTC!). We have too much going on at the moment to even consider it, but things should calm down in a few months and then it will be go time

@MrsSCB: @Bookish: It apparently is a small world! We were in the med center area for while, but we moved out to Pearland last year (thinking we were pretty close to being ready to start a family). DH and I came from a small town, so sometimes we miss it a bit. Both of our families and friends still live in the same small town, and the community back home seems a lot more interconnected. One of the biggest adjustments for me has been tempering my expectations when we moved to the suburbs. Back home we knew all the neighbors and the neighborhood kids all played together. Here, we haven't met many people in our new neighborhood, and while everyone seems nice, they all keep to themselves. I was seriously hoping for more kids running around and more neighborhood activities.

@Mrs. Chocolate: I agree, there should be a Waiting board! I feel like I'm imposing on the TTC board whenever I post anything.

DH and I are trying to decide when to start TTC for our first. We were married in October. I'm ready now, he's not so ready. We had a long talk a few months ago and decided to table all serious baby discussion until after our one year anniversary, so I'm hoping to start trying soon after then.

My LO is 10.5 months, and I plan to TTC when he is about 2 years, so about another year. I want that spacing so LO will be more independent. Also, waiting at least 18-24 months reduces the risks of preterm labor and low birth weight. Like catomd00: I never had baby fever for the first, and was somewhat ambivalent on having children, but it turns out I love being a parent.

Can I revive this thread? I'm back to Hellobee sooner than I thought I would be. I'm doing much better than I thought I would. I still miss him terribly, and sometimes cry, but mostly I'm just putting my life back together. I started work this week and they are happy to take me full-time, so I've been busy getting back into things. We want another child, and my husband is ready to try now, but there are a few reasons I need to wait awhile.

First, my husband and I need to work on our marriage, which, understandably, was such a low priority over the last 9 months that it practically didn't register. We are making plans to go places and do things together which I think will help.

Then, the doctors plan to go over all the autopsy results with us, which may or may not shed light on what Lucas's underlying condition was and maybe if there are any other genetic avenues for us to go down before plunging into trying again.

Also, I don't want our next baby to be born in May (Lucas's birthday) or July. So, I think at the earliest, we would try in November/December. But it's hard to wait, even with all these reasons, because I'm a mom without a child, which breaks my heart.
