@kjpugs: His head ped. GI doctor called more than a week ago and said that everything on initial examination looked exactly as they expected, but all the specific findings could take up to a month. Lucas is still very much on her mind and she told me all the specialists (immunology) are still involved. She was very nice and really wants us to be able to go over it completely with us.
Half of me hopes that nothing new will come up because I don't want to think we missed something and could have saved him and half of me wants more answers.
We did full exome analysis in Nov/Dec and found nothing. I work in genetics and have no reason to believe that Lucas's condition will re-occur in a future baby but it's hard to not worry when we don't have a diagnosis or a treatment.

@Ms.Badger: that's so great that you have such a thorough and caring doctor to discuss these less-than-fun subjects with you. I bet you'll feel much better about specific timing/trying again when you know SOMETHING. The not knowing is the hardest part.

@Ms.Badger: I think it is normal to worry after what you have been through.
We are waiting to TTC #2. I am ready to go now but we have a big trip coming up in November and I don't want to be pregnant for it. I get increasingly clucky every day but realistically I know November will be here before I know it. If my cycles stay on course we will be able to start trying while we are away so fingers crossed!

We have also decided to wait to ttc #1. It's mostly due to my grad school schedule and wanting to build up some savings again. Plus my husband isn't quite ready to pull the trigger. I have some serious baby fever sometimes though. Anyone have any suggestions for passing the time? We are thinking of trying around summer 2015.
