@Lindsay05: I do the same as you. It adds another 5 minutes but i do it anyways. Though i have to admit i keep her in her jacket if it's a 5-10 minute drive. We don't bother with snow pants right now. So far, layering her in tights and fleece lined jeans work pretty well.

When we had our infant seat safety inspected at the local fire station, they told us about the dangers of overdressing your infant in a carseat. Not only the issue discussed in the article, but overheating as well. We just put A in her carseat with her regular indoor clothes on, a hat and a blanket over top when we go outdoors.
