I've been BFing for 6 months and for the past month I have been a bottomless pit. I am way more hungry than I was while I was pregnant. We ate dinner at 6:00 (soup) and it's almost 8 now and I am starving!!
Was anyone else a bottomless pit while BFing?

Definitely. It's making me nervous about what I'll be like when I stop breastfeeding! Will my stomach be completely stretched out?!

@lawbee11: Seriously?! I was just standing in the kitchen staring at the pantry (for the third time since dinner) thinking 'hmmmm...maybe I should post a thread on the hive asking if anyone ever got frustrated that they never feel full while BFing'.

Needless to say, I'm right there with you (with my 3rd bowl of cereal).

Oh definitely! And I never felt like it made the weight melt off, but in retrospect, I've eaten anything and everything and I'm still the size I was at my wedding.

@lawbee11: um. I can't just have soup for dinner even when I'm not pregnant or BFing! Of course you're starving!
But yes while pregnant and BFing I ate more than my 6'3" husband who works out, lifts weights etc.

Yup. I eat so much. And weigh almost the least I have as an adult actually! Since I'm not gaining I figure I need it!!

@locavore_mama: I had a couple of rolls, too! But yeah, the soup totally could have been a side dish to a bigger meal and I would probably still be hungry!

@lawbee11: LOL soups and rolls rolls are not substantial enough of a meal for this girl! Now you know it's not enough for you either. 
What about eggs? Do you have eggs? Scrambled eggs sandwich with those rolls?

Yes, I would eat leftovers from that night's dinner during my midnight pumping session! I ate more than I ever have, but lost all of the baby weight and then some. I gained a few back after I weaned.

I'm soo glad you posted this! DD will be 5 months on Wednesday & for the past few weeks I have been STARVING. I literally ate a giant bowl of oatmeal before bed last night & woke up at 3am so hungry thought I would pass out on te way to the kitchen. It's like the third trimester all over again. I eat more than my husband!!

Not food but I'd drink gallons, I always felt like I was dying of thirst - would pull off the road to get the XXXL drink at a drive thru. I'm never like that normally!

I kinda use it as an excuse not to workout....if I'm eating this much without burning extra calories, I would never leave the kitchen if I were! lol

Yep, I gained a lot of weight during breast feeding. It took WW to get it off and weaning.

My husband and I ate lunch together today and when he said he was still full at 5 pm, and asked if I was, I said "you are crazy, I'm starving!"

I literally never felt full for a year lol. I kept snacks on my nightstand just so I has access to food at all hours lol.

Yes...the food I ate during the first year I BF both kids, the food that I HAD to have, sounds awful while being pregnant again! I ate a ton then too which sounds awful now!

I am such a piggy. Feels like I'm always eating. I swear our grocery bill has gone up a lot since DS2 was born just to support my increased appetite.

Ugh, yes. Combined with taking Domperidone, it's baaaad. I'm hungry all the time, but I don't get full thanks to the Dom. I have honestly been gaining weight I think... Fail!

Um...yeah. 300-500 extra calories a day is a joke-I think I'm eating 1000 extra a day easy! And starving! I'm really going to miss this...

With DS yes, I ate constantly, but he was also nursing every 90 minutes around the clock. I'm now EBF our 10 week old and she eats less frequently and I'm definitely not hungry like the wolf like I was with DS.

I'm tandem nursing my 22 month old and my 10 day old and I'm CONSTANTLY starving. It's baaaaad. The day my milk came in DH offered to go get donuts for breakfast and I basically barked at him, "I NEED PROTEIN NOT DANISHES!" LOL

Totally! OMG, I'm still a bottomless pit and it's been 8 months since I stopped nursing my second. That's the downside when you stop. I gained 10 lbs after I stopped nursing my oldest and I guess the stress of the move overseas helped after I stopped nursing my second. Otherwise, I'm sure I would have gained another 10 lbs. :O
