My sister got me a Moby wrap and I'm so excited to use it for LO! I'm also very intimidated by it How did you get the hang of your Moby?

Kind of, because the tails dragged everywhere...until I realized I could lay out the entire thing along my sectional sofa!

I watched a youtube video. After a few times, It was really easy! My advice would be to wear it higher and tighter than you would think to--another words, the fabric going across your stomach shoud be at belly button height or above, not around your hips. That ensures that LO is high enough on your chest.

ditto hilsy-- watched a youtube video that made it TONS easier. and key is wear it higher than your natural waistline! fits is so much better!

Ditto to tying it nice and high and tight. The biggest thing that helped me is to tie it at home before we went somewhere so that I could just grab her out of the car and put her in instead of tying it in the parking lot somewhere.

Is there a good baby store near you where they can show you in person? I haven't actually worn one so I'm sure it would still take me a while to get the hang of it, but the lady there showed us the basic tie and pointed out what I was doing wrong right away, which was really helpful.
@bpcmarj: I have heard the biggest trick is to put it on at home, not the parking lot!
I'm getting the baby k'tan, but will also be borrowing a Moby so we'll see which I like better. I like that the k'tan will never drag though so it seems better for doing on the run.

I'll be honest: I got one and was so excited about it, and I ended up using it about 3 times. It was just so much more work to tie and put him in the thing! I have an Ergo, too, and with the infant insert, it was MUCH easier than the Moby. I'm gonna keep it and try it again round-two, I guess.

never got the hang of it! watched the tutorials online, but LO didn't really like it anyway - so i think we used it like, twice.

I loved the Moby, and it just took practice getting the hang of it. That being said, I'm still going to invest in a K'Tan for #2 because I can't imagine investing that much time in getting a sling on and off with a 20 month old running around.

I practiced several times when I want even near a lo so it was a no stress situation. I watched you tube videos and figured out how to make sure I got it to lay flat. Ditto to tying it high and tight. It only took a few practice tries to get it- do it near a mirror where you can see your back the first few times. It helped that the lo I used it for could be screaming bloody murder when I put he in but would calm down within thirty second of being put in, I felt calmer putting it on knowing I could calm her much faster once it was on properly.

I was more intimidated by just trying it, to be honest! Once I used it I was good to go. Just practicing the first few times was key!

I would practice ahead of time..can't hurt! I was shown by a friend how to do it but never got one myself!

practice, youtube videos and more practice! i like it because it's more light weight than our boba, but it does take some work.

I didn't think it was too hard--I watched a video online (the one on thatwife's blog) and read the instruction book several times. And I practiced putting it on pregnant b/c I'm a visual learner...even though it didn't really fit around the bump! Got the hang of it pretty quickly, and I have tied it in parking lots, at the mall and in the car...you can do the first part sitting down if you don't want the ends touching the ground.

YouTube videos, and practice. I would definitely put it on before I left the house though.

I only used it a handful of times. I found it hard to put on, and I vividly remember being about 3 weeks PP and ending up in tears (crazy hormones!) because I couldn't get the hang of it.

Nope! It is super simple and I used it 473827363 times a day! Couldn't have lived without it.
