Yes, I didn't want to go home! Or maybe it was gross and I was just starving?!?

Yes, it was actually very good! I was surprised, but I was so hungry that they could have put anything in front of me and I would have eaten it- and usually I am a fairly picky eater.

It was awesome! They had sushi!!
I only wanted grease afterwards, though. Their chicken nuggets and grilled cheese were top notch.

I think it was pretty good, It's funny though because once, we ordered all this food, and before it came my whole family came in the room with all this Korean food. So while we were eating seaweed soup, my dad and uncle raided my cafeteria tray and ate my burger and fries. We didn't realize until after they left and saw the empty tray!!

I was shocked how excellent it all was.....agree that it made me not want to go home!

it wasn't that bad. but i like hospital and airplane food.

are we talking about the trays they bring to your room or the food court/cafeteria food?!

So terrible. I didn't even get jello. All the nurses apologized, apparently the food used to be good when there was a cafeteria, but it fell victim to budget cuts. I got people to bring me food as much as possible!

It was kind of hit or miss. They only offer you 2 choices for each meal, so there were a few times that I didn't really like either selection. The breakfast was pretty good though.

It was ok. The cafeteria is much better than what they send to your room.

I loved it...I think i loved checking off the food I wanted from the menu and having it brought to me...the servings were huge and there was so much variety at each meal

It wasn't bad. Then again, I was famished from not eating almost anything at all during the previous three days!

OMG, so good! I know people who actually go to lunch at our hospital's cafeteria because it is so good!
persimmon / 1479 posts
Really good. You can order what you want form 7am-7pm. Build your own wrap or pizza, fish, chicken. One night they bring a steak meal for two with cheesecake for dessert.

It was terrible. They served weird British food and you had to venture out and get it yourself.

Ours was decent, but there are some other places that sound much better! Breakfast was set up as a buffet, so you had to go get it yourself, although the nurse brought it to me the first two days.

I think it was pretty decent. One night you get a lobster and champagne dinner. I never thought that this would be good but it was excellent! Totally passed out after a few sips of champagne, though.

Yes!!!! The hospital I delivered at makes the BEST burgers!!!! I ate one for lunch AND dinner everyday I was there bc I had missed them so much! Lol

Hit and miss, breakfast was good but I usually made my DH go out and get something for lunch and dinner.

To me it was gross but the hubs said it was decent - he ended up eating most of the food because I had no appetite.

Everytime I've been admitted in the past they wouldn't let me eat in case I needed surgery, so I don't know . I hope the hospital I deliver out of is like some of yours though- I never knew hospitals carried menus...
The hospital we're delivering out of does have post-partum themed rooms you can pay for so a menu doesn't seem that crazy in comparison.

excellent! we used to eat there when I was just going in for ultrasounds, it's so good.
I ordered by menu delivered to my room whenever I wanted & everything and anything was on there.

I haven't delivered yet but already know from experience over the years that the food is terrible. Absolutely, positively awful. The only somewhat edible meal will be breakfast and even then you have to know the tricks to ordering it so they will have to make it fresh instead of reheat stuff. The only reason I know this is because my mom worked at the hospital for 30 years. My only birth plan = someone bringing me real food for the duration of my stay.

it wasn't bad,, i can only think of 1 chicken dish that was rather bland and on the dry side,, and of course all of the food was on the healthy side, but the food tasted overall good, and it was nice to get a hot meal, snacks, salad and drinks, delivered to you for every meal.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Yes actually! And I Like that we ordered off a menu so we picked!
They gave dad's a flat rate ordering card but we cheated and ordered in such a way that he ate some of my food! hehe
But then my mom was also cooking my meals so it made it easier to share the hospital meal.

The meals were okay, but they had the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. I was in heaven, especially after having GD. At my mom's group a few weeks later, we were all discussing what hospital we delivered at and when someone mentioned my hospital, me and 3 other moms all said "The cookies!!" at the same time.

Eww it was SOoooooo horrible. Everything tasted low fat and kind of styrofoam-y. I couldn;t finish anything. I'm surprised I didn't lose a whole bunch of weight in the hospital since in only ate on 2.5 of the 5 days I was there, and I never finished a meal.

I thought it was pretty good. I actually kinda felt like
I was at a hotel, but I'm a sucker for room service.
