Little Bean has her vaccinations today. Im dreading it! She has woken up in such a good mood and is practicing her talking, smiling away - it seems such a shame to ruin it.
Was your baby poorly after their shots? What can I expect and for how long?

I feel so sad too... She has her first shots tomorrow. My nephew was totally fine after his. Didn't even cry! (he cried during check up though. Do figure ha ha).

I could tell he didn't feel great, but he was still smiley and happy. I think he felt worse the day after, as he had a bit of a fever..

I'm dreading this too- we got next week. Most babies seem fine with the two month ones, although my friends baby had a fever and was pretty cranky for a few days.
So she's been waking up happy? No crazy 8 week fussiness? C had been pretty cranky and in hoping to gets out of this wonder week soon- although when she is in a good mood she has lots of smiles and will coo and talk to us for a while. It's so cute.

LO was fine straight after her shots, until she woke up when she home, she was pretty inconsolable until she fell asleep again which meant I was pacing around the house for a while, but once she slept it off she was back to normal! Hope your LO handles it well.

C was fine after his shots. A little more tired than usual, and then he spiked a slight fever maybe 10 hours later. One dose of children's Tylenol, and he was all better.

@Pepper: R was the same! Her crying during the shots made me cry though.

Nope! She was fine. I was even a little disappointed I didn't get a longer nap out of her, lol.

She napped a little more, and then was pretty fussy when she woke up later in the afternoon. She was doing this whining thing while she nursed...but it only lasted maybe an hour?
Unfortunately she did have a reaction to the Rotavirus vaccine, and ended up with diarrhea for a week- but its better than getting the actual Rotavirus!

DS was not a happy camper. Poor little guy was screaming his head off for almost 2 hours later that evening. We gave him a warm bath and he settled down once the tylenol kicked in. Broke my heart to see him like that.

She handled it just fine and was extra sleepy. we never dealt with a fever or anything following shots.

@swedishfish: Oh my goodness, I cried so hard when he got them too, because he was hysterical
He forgot about it once I nursed him though.

Yes. He was cuddly (very rare!!) and extra sleepy. I could tell his thighs hurt from the shots so I have him a dose of Tylenol.

@Cherrybee: how was it? My LO cried and cried, it made me tear up
I felt like such a traitor because she gets so happy when I sit her in her carseat, but instead of fun I led her to pain :'( I know of course that she'll forget, and it's for her own good. But still...
She has been really sad and fussy all evening. Tylenol seemed to help. She had a massive blowout too, I think a reaction to the Rotavirus vaccine. I hope your LO did ok!

He cried during the shots. Afterwards, he couldn't move his legs without them hurting. We got Tylenol and dosed him. He did a short nap in his bouncy chair until his legs felt better. He was a sad lump of baby after those first shots. Every set after got easier. He usually naps off the shots. I time his appointment for before nap time.
