I don't know that I could get Dh on board with cloth diapering. We don't know anyone who does it. He's squeamish still with some diapering things- like he won't even use his finger to put diaper rash cream on her butt, he smears it on with a diaper. So it would have been tough. I never seriously considered though.

He's totally on board with the breastfeeding though- he had no choice in that matter.

DH couldnt believe that I wanted to do it. But after going through all the pros of it, he was fully on board.

Nope, he thinks it's disgusting. I was really only on the wagon for a few months anyway. We tried, it sucked, we quit. Lol

He was extremely skeptical, but after we had to use disposables for a couple of days for a trip he was begging to go back to cloth! We've never had a blowout in cloth, they're easy, washing is no big deal, they're cute, we have already made our money back 4 months in, and I'm happy that we aren't creating excess waste or exposing my son's skin to additional chemicals. DH loves CDs!

Nope he was all for it! he drove us 2 hours to philly to the closet cloth diaper shop so that we can learn about them and buy them in person!

He wasn't against it but he definitely wasn't sold on it. I really wanted to at least try though and now, a year later, he's always talking to ppl about how awesome its been/how much $$ we've saved, etc.

Oh yeah, he was totally onboard. He probably wouldn't have minded either way.

DH basically went along with whatever I wanted. He was like "Sure, whatever. Just when I think you couldn't get aaaany crunchier." We started with prefolds and covers. I changed LO exclusively for the first couple weeks (some traumatic stuff went down for DH a couple days after LO was born, so I tried to let him adjust more slowly, I guess). Then LO outgrew our newborn prefolds and has been in this weird inbetween size where he was too big for newborn prefolds but too small for infant prefolds or the AIO OS that we have. So he's been doing disposable diapers for the last good bit. Now that he's gained some weight in the right places, we're starting back with the infant prefolds and a couple AIO. Tomorrow is going to be "Teach DH how to fold a diaper" day. I'm not expecting any miracles here.

If you DH isn't on board, I would stress the financial aspect + invest in some AIO diapers that are more like disposables, like a PP said.

I read a blog about how cloth diaper could save money. It was from a SAHD and he showed how the money saved could result in beer money. It swayed him a little, but, at this point, DH knows that I like saving money so he'll try it out for me. I have some AIOs and pockets so hopefully it won't be too hard on him (and me).

Our friends told us they switched from disposables to cloth due to the frequency of their daughter 's blow-outs....and did more laundry with disposables than cloth since cloth gave far fewer leaks/blowouts soiling baby and parent clothing.

@lovehoneybee: Mine is obsessed with the designs! He's always showing me different ones - 'Look, deer! Robots! Airplanes! Owls!' lol. I never expected that! I love it

DH knew that I did my research and was on board to try cloth diapering. Of course we were probably both scared and unsure if it would work out. He was kind of scared of the poop factor but didn't mind too much once we started. It's cost effective and great for LO's bum. Money savings and baby benefit = approval from DH.

Mine was definitely against it, and since I didn't feel super passionately about it I decided it wasn't a battle we needed to fight. We've been happy with disposables.

DH wasn't against it, but he wasn't enthusiastic about it at first, either. I said I wanted to CD and he was just like, "oh okay". I asked him what would make it easiest for him and he said the all in one style would be best. Frankly, it seemed the easiest to me, too! And it has been. Now that he's done it, he's like, "these are amazing. I can't believe i was ever nervous about them". He hates disposables now, lol! It cracks me up how into it he is now. Has no problem washing them, either.

You can always rent newborn cloth diapers just to see how you like them
