I need a water bottle recommendation. My kids have destroyed my 3rd water bottle this year.
Needs: Not breakable (my children love carrying it around and dropping it) and durable.

I have a stainless steel Kleen Kanteen wide mouth bottle that I love. I've had it for several years, use it daily, and it still looks new.

If you like a straw bottle I really like my contigo. My LO liked it so much I bought her her own kids ones but she stil prefers mine. It does leak a little bit of you leave it on its side though. I like that I can drink one handed and it has been dropped several times with no issues.

Lifefactory. Has a silicone sleeve so it doesn't break. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DUHFFQ4?colid=E1WFNQRU1P2W&coliid=IIM24GN755PM5&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl

Insulated camelbak bottle. I drink more often when the bottle is clear and I see what I have left, plus the straw helps too, no need to even tip. Won't break.
@mrssrs: my husband's friend thought it would be funny to throw his Nalgene against a brick wall to demonstrate its strength.... it shattered

I picked up a Thermos Funtainer for my son on clearance at Target, and I've been really impressed. I want to get one for myself. It NEVER leaks. It's easy for his little hands to open/close. And it keeps stuff cold for hours. We filled it one morning before going to Disney World, and 6 hours later there was still ice in it!

I bought a hydroflask on a whim because I was tired of my water getting hot when I leave it in the car - best purchase ever!!! It's stainless steel so it's pretty loud when you drop it, but doesn't break (DS likes to bang it on the floor). Plus it's vacuum insulated so it will keep water could all day long - I have friends who had them in Hawaii and they would still have ice in their bottles after a full day at the beach.

@honeybear: Does the bottle sweat? How does the top work. Do you have to unscrew it all the time?

@DesertDreams88: crazy! I've had one for 5 years and one for 10 and they get dropped a lot. But I haven't ever chucked them at bricks, I guess

DH swears by his Hydroflask. Keeps things super cold and icy for 24+ hours, even if it's sitting out in the blistering Texas summer sun of 110+ degrees!

@peachykeen: these are pretty! does the water taste pure? I have a stainless steel coffee thermos that I hate because the coffee ends up tasting metallicy.

@runnerd: I just took a sip to double-check I've used the bottle pretty much daily for 3 years and haven't noticed a metallic taste, but I do rinse and let dry overnight and have never put hot liquids in it.

@mediagirl: My son has broken two of them - apparently silicone sleeves are no match for a tile floor:(

@BandDmommy: No, the bottle doesn't sweat, but yes, you have to unscrew it unless you get one of the "cafe" caps. I always manage to grow mold in straws (humid climate), so I prefer a cup-like lid.

I love my Contigo water bottle but it does leak thanks to DD pegging it onto the floor. The flasks are much better though.

@SeptMomma12: Glad to hear my children aren't the only ones that love destroying water bottles.

@honeybear: hmm, my daughter has ninja like speed and reflexes, I fear I would take off the cap and she would steal it all the time.

@travelgirl1: oh no, I just purchased one.. my kids love dropping my water bottle..

Life factory! I like my contigo travel mug. Keeps liquids either hot or cold, but I wish it was bigger.
