eek, I didn't know what to vote. my MOH got married this past march and we gave her the amount she gave us - $100.

a friend of mine is getting married in may and attended ours - they aren't super close to us, and gave us $40. we'll probably give them the same or a gift.

I totally think it depends on the person, how close you are, etc.!

ETA - holy cow you guys are generous!!!

1. If you're MOH or best man AND/OR it's immediate family: $200++
2. If you're in the wedding party AND/OR it's extended family: $150+
3. If you are close friends with the bride AND groom: $150+

With everyone wedding we go to, the hubs and I have a base of $200 from the both of us. The only time I never covered $100 for myself was when I was invited a mere two weeks before the date and wasn't given a meal (couple had a lunch buffet but the facility didn't reserve enough seats and it ended up being a first-come-first-served thing. UGH!).

If the couple is a very close friend or relative, our cash gift goes up. But $200 is our base.

We do a standard $150 per person attending for anyone that is not family.

For family, it depends.

Wow, in my location we are no where near that level.

If you're MOH or best man AND/OR it's immediate family: $75-100
2. If you're in the wedding party AND/OR it's extended family: $50 wedding party/extended family $25-30
3. If you are close friends with the bride AND groom: $30-40

And we are actually at the high end compared to what we received from friends/family. This doesn't include shower gifts and what not! I feel cheap now haha but our cost of living is a lot less here too compared to the bigger cities.

For my SIL's wedding, we gave $500. When my own siblings are to get married, it'll be $500+.

My base is also $200.

Out of the 5 weddings that we've been to together, DH has been in 3 of them and I've been in one of them...we've given $300 to each couple, because we're close with all of them. $300 seems to be standard in our circle. For people that we aren't as close with, we would probably do $200...same with extended family that we're not close with.

We usually give $50-$100. Neither of us have ever been in a wedding party, nor have any of our immediate families gotten married recently.

We had very generous guests that came to our wedding, and I'm thankful for all of the thoughtful gifts that we received, but our circles generally spend less on gifts than we tend to give (usually in the $25-$50 range or no gift at all)

We always give $200 as a starting point and then go up from there. When my sister got married we gave her $2k.

Wow! I wish my guests had the same stats as you guys! We didn't get a wedding gift from anyone in our wedding party, not that I cared about the gifts themselves, just seemed odd to me =\

We usually give $100-200, depending on the couple, if we had to travel, how much we think our plates cost

Usually no less than $300 cash. If I am not that close to them and will not be attending the wedding, then I will do a gift for about $150 value.

I always refer to what they gave us at our wedding. Most people get $100 or above, but there were a couple of people who gave less, so we don't give them as much.

I said $50 - 100 for regular wedding gifts, but it's really just $50. If we are close friends / in the wedding party, we'll give $100.

Having said that, this is because we are on a tight budget! Assuming we "do well" later in life, we'd love to give larger gifts, especially to family.

Edited to add: Now I feel pretty crappy about the $50 cash sitting in a card ready to send to a couple that just got married....

$100 for anyone. We don't have a lot of money so we give what we can afford.
