My mommy friends keep telling me that week 8 is the magic week where LO starts figuring out life outside the womb and things get back to normal a bit. Did you find this to be true?

For us it was week 6!

I've always heard it's week 6; right after the growth spurt, most babies start eating more at each meal, sleeping longer stretches, and becoming more social (smiling, cooing, etc...).

I think every baby is very different. I think most people say week 6 because that's when peak fussiness ends. More commonly I have heard 3 months, 4 months or 6 months is when things turn a corner.
I don't know if 'normal' is possible with infants! Hahaha.

It was around there that things got better. I didn't realize it at the time but looking back that was around the time I didn't mind everything as much any more.

My son is 7 weeks and last week I began to see a change in him. It's now becoming more evident.

YES! I cant remember if we were week 6 or 8, but it was like a lightbulb went off.

I think for us it was around week 5ish, maybe a little earlier. Things were definitely better around 6 weeks - nursing was going really well, he was interacting, etc.

Things were better at 8 weeks, but my LO changed completely at around 3.5 months. It was AMAZING. Suddenly I was like, "Oh, THIS is why people love babies!!"
