We were going to go see my family for the long weekend, but my mom just canceled on us last minute (thanks, ma)... We already have someone to watch our dogs and chickens, so we're still going to get out of town.
Any ideas for something fun within driving distance of Memphis?

St. Louis! The cardinals are in town this weekend, the weather should be decent and there is lots of free/low cost kid attractions. We're debating heading up for the cardinals game on saturday.

St. Louis (my hometown) is awesome for a weekend trip!

- City Museum (interactive kid's museum)
- Science Center
- The Muny (outdoor theater)
- Magic House
- Botanical Gardens (Currently the Nature Connect: Art with Lego Bricks is there)
- Ted Drews (frozen custard)
I also have a mile-long list of my favorite restaurants!

I'm struggling to think of anything happening here in Nashville that's particularly family-friendly and not already sold out for the holiday. Then again, that's not the wavelength I'm on yet …

If you go to St. Louis you HAVE to take C to City Museum. I went with a bunch of girlfriends and we had the time of our life so I can only imagine how much fun it would be for a kid. the Schlafly brewery had a good restaurant in St. Louis, too. That is where we always stop for food on the way to Oklahoma-Bridge Tap House is super yummy.
