The RSVP date for LO's birthday party is coming up and there are still a lot of people who have yet to respond. I don't really want to track anyone down but it will likely affect our food cost so I'll probably have to, or is that tacky?
Were people good about RSVPing to your LO's birthday party, or did you not require a response either way?
How do you handle the ones you do not hear back from?

@Bao: We just threw a 50th party for my mom and I had to track down some RSVPs... We had it catered and I needed a final number, I just sent texts, emails or FB messages checking in. I tried to be casual, "Hey, Just checking in to see if you can make it to the party. We'd love to see you there!"
I hope you can get responses! It's hard to guess for food and you don't want to overpay if you don't need to!

@creativemomma15: That is what I'm slightly panicking about. I refuse to pay for people who aren't coming, I just need a simple yes or no if they can't come for whatever reason I don't care just tell me so I'm not paying for you to eat when you aren't even there.

Most people were pretty good RSVPing for DDs last birthday but there was a few that were super last minute (like the night before!) it was just a BBQ so it wasn't a huge deal but if it did affect the cost significantly or I needed a head count I totally would send out texts to find people's status.

I find in general people are terrible about RSVPing, but I'm not sure I'm much better!

A lot of people weren't good about RSVPing until I sent a reminder email from Evite about a week before the party.
