I ate at home as I wanted. Went to the hospital when water broke at 5cm and by then I had no interest though we brought food and I would have eaten it if I wanted. I did a natural labor so they mostly left me alone.

I got to eat in between cervidil being taken out and pitocin starting

Yes! You could order sandwiches as long as the cafeteria was open, but they also had a room in L&D filled with snacks and drinks. I ate a lot of pb crackers from there, and DH also brought me fruit and power bars from home. No restrictions on food, happily!

I was in labor for 74 hours. Policy was not to let you eat while on pitocin, however the nurses didn't follow to ob's directive and if they wouldn't have let me eat for 3 days I'm sure I would have walked out.

No, and by the end it sucked. I could have popsicles, but they were too sweet. I really wanted something to drink more than anything!!!

Yup! I mostly just sucked on fruit popsicles! I was so hot, they were just what I needed.

I said other because they let me have these delicious cups of broth. I loved them! They also insisted that I drink water the whole time - I'm surprised to hear some women say they weren't drinking liquids! Once my son was born, a new nurse took over and brought me a bowl of snacks to choose from while I was still in the delivery room. After I was settled in my recovery room the cafeteria was closed, but I was given a boxed "lunch" (it was around 9pm) that had the best turkey sandwich I've eaten in my LIFE.

Nope, but they gave me ice chips. I didn't really want food, but I really wanted water.

Yes but I was so scared of throwing up, I didn't want to eat anything. And then after she was born I ate an elephant.

Yes. But I didn't ask... I just ate the food I brought when the nurses weren't in the room.
I had trail mix and a banana.

No idea. It never crossed my mind to want something to eat and nothing was ever said about it either way. I know I was drinking Powerade with LO1 but didn't want anything, even water, with LO2.

My hospital doesn't restrict laboring mamas, except in unusual circumstances. I could have eaten if I wanted to, but I'd had dinner about an hour before my water broke and then labor was pretty quick. So I never really thought about food until afterward. They did make me guzzle a LOT of water throughout, though!

Yup ordered food from the hospital at dinner time. I was encouraged to eat something by my nurse. I was only like 2-3 cm at the time though and I think she could tell I was going to progress slowly. I didn't deliver until my c section mid day the next say and never threw up or felt sick. I kept it light with a PB & J and fruit.

Just popsicles, but I was not at all hungry during labor. I didn't even eat before going to the hospital, because food was unappealing.

I wasn't supposed to other than popsicles, but they gave me rice crispies and said I should just chew it really good. I was hungry!

No- and I had no interest in food but I was DYING for a drink. So much so that the first thought after he was out was that now i could get something to drink. I mean, I was nearly in a panic I was so thirsty. I really don't understand why you can't even have clear fluids....

I wasn't allowed to eat. I was straving! I had skipped out on dinner because I was just going to the doctor to get checked out and I was sure I would be back home.....boy was I wrong...Lucky for me I had him about 12 hours after I saw my doctor....

@travellingbee: I was this same way, I was literally almost in tears because I was so freaking thirsty. I remember yelling while pushing that I needed some water!

No. I was only at the hospital for 3 hours though so I didn't really want food. But the chocolate congrats bar that my mom brought when she got there was the best thing ever.

I probably was, but I didn't. I ate a popsicle for the sake of eating something, but surprisingly, I wasn't hungry. Even when they brought DH a tray full of lunch! So thankful!!
