In a sort yes... It is certainly not impossible.

But you have to be very, very careful about the language you allow in the delivery room. You must stick to your guns.. I cannot stress enough how if you allow certain non-hypnobirthing terms into the delivery room, how much it will affect you.

Hearing people say "This will make your contractions get stronger" is just not helpful when you are hypnobirthing.

I really hoped you'd get a lot more replies on this thread because this is potentially what I will be facing, too!! I'm sure lots of people have been induced and still gone on to have the birth they had envisaged.... the key for me is to remember that hypnobirthing never promised to stop the physical sensations, it promised to help me cope with them. So while induction may be a little more intense (although some people say it was no different to their spontaneous labour), it's totally manageable.

Sort of...I was able to zone out during contractions, but I had a stupid nurse that told me if I zone out it'll make my contractions weaker and progress less. So, she kept irritating me during contractions so that I couldn't focus.

But, when she wasn't in the room, I most certainly did focus and was able to concentrate and relax through contractions.

@jh524: She was a bad nurse in an already bad situation. I'll be sure to make sure she's not around for any future labors!
