I was up through junior high school. Ah the old school characters from back in the day like My Melody (though they brought her back), Tuxedo Sam, Little Twin Stars. Then came Ahirunopekkle, Kerropi, Pochacco.... Sanrio had the best smelly erasers.

I was when I was little. I had a hello kitty fabric doll that you would take into the bath and her dress would change colour in warm water.

@Rubies: I had the SAME DOLL but in My Melody!! the rabbit. I left her in the car in the summer and she turned the "warm" color and stayed that way forever

Yes, and other Sanrio stuff. I loved going to the Sanrio store. I always got erasers, notebooks, pens/pencils, and other stationary.

Love love love love Sanrio! My favorite was Pippo (the pig... he wasn't very popular and all of his stuff was phased out pretty quickly). Spotty Dottie and Keroppi were super popular at my school... and the blue duck. Peckle?

I never liked Spotty Dottie because she had an "American" name... although I guess Hello Kitty has an American name, too.

@HabesBabe: oh yes i remember him! they used to come out with new characters regularly back in the day, but lately it seems like they're sticking to the classics. my melody was my favorite!

I wasn't into Hello Kitty the character, but I loved Sanrio! Little Twin Stars were my favorite when I was little. Then up through middle school I liked Pekkle and Pippo.

@Mrs. Bee: Yeah, Yogurtland is a self-serve kind of Pinkberry. They started out in OC and are pretty popular... I think there's more of them in OC than Pinkberrys.

I was into Hello Kitty at an embarrassing advanced age. I had the fuzzy steering wheel cover and pillow heads in my car, and a HK rearview mirror. I shared the car with my sister who was an attorney and she took them off one day when she had to drive clients and couldn't explain their presence.

@HabesBabe: i love Yogurtland! all my SoCal friends posted pics of their Sanrio cups and spoons on FB. I would've totally done the same, but Yogurtland sadly only lasted in NYC for a year or two before shutting down.
I just bought my DD's H&M hairclips with Little Twin Stars on them. I didn't like them too much, but since they were one of the OG characters, I had to get 'em.
In elementary I was into Pippo, Zashikibuta and Pochacco!! I loved going to Sanrio at the mall and filling up my stamp cards then trading them in for something. I loved how they sealed their cute Sanrio paper bags with a sticker and trinket, too.
