Nope, we had a family bed for some time apparently when I was a child. My husband didn't but he apparently was a great sleeper and never needed training.

Nope. I think we co/bedded too. I'm a horrible sleeper, but I think it's all my physiology.

Not that I'm aware of and my Mum tells me that I was such a good sleeper I didn't even realise I could get out of my own twin bed until I was over three years old!

I wasn't because my mom said that she just couldn't handle the crying and she felt bad. DH and all of his brothers were. They're awesome sleepers. All of them can sleep through almost anything.

nope I was not! neither was my brother. I took 14 months to STTN, he was a great sleeper.

Nope, I STTN starting as a newborn. I was a freak of nature.

And yes, I still excel at sleeping! I can sleep whenever, wherever.

I'm not entirely sure but maybe because when I told my mom we were sleep-training LO, she was very supportive and agreeable to the method.

I don't think I was sleep trained, but I also wasn't a problematic sleeper. I'm not a great sleeper now- it takes me a long time to fall asleep still, but once I'm asleep I usually sleep deeply and I can fall back asleep after the many bathroom breaks these days.

My little sister was the only really bad baby sleeper in my family and my mom had a hard time with her-- first letting her sleep in my parents' bed (she swore she would NEVER cobed for safety reasons), then eventually my mom slept on a twin mattress on the floor of the nursery with the baby (floor bed before it was cool I guess ) That sister still has horrible sleep patterns-- she has a lot of anxiety and it's not unusual for her to have bouts of being up until 1 am or later, which leads to taking inappropriately long naps, prolonging the problem. I don't think sleep training would have helped or hurt that, just part of her personality.

According to my mom I started sleeping through the night at 3 or 4 months with no coaxing needed. I was EBF too.

My opinion is that either my mom has a selective memory, or I must have been the easiest baby on the face of the planet. I tend to believe the former.

I wasn't sleep trained, like @googly-eyes: it's not like I never cried but she said she would never have had the heart to do CIO anyways. I was apparently a sleepy baby for a long time, could fall asleep anywhere and sleep through anything. I'm still that way! (Unless my LO wakes) I've slept through many alarms in my day lol Sleeping arrangements were a combination of family bed & my own crib.
