We are the very first to be having a baby. We didn't really tell anyone we were TTC...everyone knew that DH really wanted kids right away, so there were a lot of jokes about when we would get pregnant. Everyone has been really really excited for us, I think even more so because we are the first--they're all looking forward to having a baby to spoil (and then give back to mom and dad!). So far friendships haven't changed much, but I'm sure they will once LO gets here and we can't go out as much/have other priorities. But we/our friends kind of act "older" in general--we're more likely to do dinner and a game night than go out to a bar and club, so hopefully it will be an easier transition for everyone.

Yup, we are the first. No one was really expecting it and we didn't tell anyone we were TTC. Babies aren't really on anyone elses radar that we are aware, so we are going to have to figure out the finding friends with babies thing.

We are the first! We didn't tell anyone we were ttc, just when we were pregnant.

Of my six closest girl friends, all but one isn't pregnant or holding a newborn now. I'm 31 and surprised that I'm in the middle of the pack. My high school friends mostly had babies two years ago and are considering second babies, but college and grad school friends all waited for the 30 year mark. DH is only the second in his circle which made the decision to TTC harder for him.

We aren't the first- it seems like all of our friends started at about the same time! The first of our friends to have a baby had their LO in February of this year. The second had theirs in March, the third in August and now us in October! We have two other couple friends who are currently expecting...one any day and one in January! It's been a bit of a baby boom in our group

We're literally the first........but then the rest fell like dominos...we have 2-3friends due this spring. Our babies will be about 7months apart which is nice:)

We're somewhere in the middle. About half our friends have kids and half don't (some of them not even married). One couple is actually due with their first a couple of months before us though! We might be more like near the last of our friends to have kids.

Yep. DH was the first to get married and is the only one with a baby.
I was the first to get married and have a baby as well.

Yep! My BFF got pregnant a few months after us, so that's been nice. Otherwise, my other gfs are not yet TTC.

DH's BFF has three kids though, but none of his other friends yet.

Not pregnant yet, but it'll be a little different--we don't have a tight circle/group of friends. Fiance is older, so a few of his friends/acquaintances have kids, but we don't ever hang out as a group (he'll stop over at their place from time to time alone). I have one friend who is 4 months pregnant, and the rest of my friends (again, not a group, but a few super close individual friends) are not even close to having kids.

So in that sense...kind of...

First out of my current friends, last (or it feels like it at least) of highschool friends. SIL has a baby but she did before DH and I were married

I was in the middle, and it was hard to see people that got married after me get pregnant very easily (I had a miscarriage). But, I'm glad I waited, I'm sure I won't be able to imagine my life without this LO!

We were actually towards the end of the pack -- but pretty much all our friends had kids about 9-18 months before us since most of my friends got pregnant right away whereas it took us 8 months to get and stay pregnant.

We're the last out of one set of my friends. All my highschool girlfriends started having kids a few years ago. They all have 2 now. But I'm not so close to them anymore (we all live in different places and rarely talk). We were the last out of that group to get married too.

Out of the rest of our friends we're pretty close to first (provided I actually get pregnant in the next few months).

kinda... I didn't have friends here when I moved back and got married. Sooo I didn't meet our current group of friends until I was already pregnant, and in the group there was one other pregnant lady. And about half are pregnant, so I was among the first.

In my family, my sister got pregnant 5 months before me, then me and so far no one else.

I'm not still friends with most HS friends, but none of them have kids. Only a handful are even married right now. My BFF isn't even in a relationship.

We're one of the first among my friends. It's funny that most of them had never been to a baby shower and ours was their first! SIL has kids, and so did two of my friends, and their product recommendations were very helpful and they did offer some advice, but even that and classes did not properly prepare me for the first month! I'm planning on writing up a list to help my friends in the future, and also to remind ourselves of what that first month was like for a future LO!

Good luck TTC!! I hope you guys get lucky on your first try! Also, HelloBee was my salvation! I asked questions here whenever they popped up in my head and received so many helpful responses! This is your community right here! Of course, friends in real life are nice too!
