My daughter is 1 year nd 3 weeks and I am introducing her to a potty seat this week. For the past month since we stopped bottle feedinf her she refuses to poop in her diaper and sometimes tries to hold in her poop and not poop at all. Giving her lots of prunes and pears helps her not to be scared to poop. So her doctor recommended we get a potty seat and just put her on it everyday.

I want to say that we introduced the potty seat around 2 years but can't say for sure. DD showed interest in the potty around that time and was potty trained by the time she was 2 1/2.

We started potty learning with a seat on the big toilet at 6 months old. By a year old, we were sitting on there every morning and every night and occasionally catching a pee. By 18 months he was peeing on the toilet on command. At 2 years old he is daytime pee trained. We did early potty training in the elimination communication idea.

We got it around 18 months, but she's 21 months and still no going in the potty. She'll sit on it when I go to the potty. I just wanted her to get used to it, but we won't really start potty training until she's ready.

We started using a potty chair with DS when he was 2 months old while practicing elimination communication.

Thanks everyone i guess people do it all at different times. I wont pressure her now since she is still very young but since she doesnt want to go in her diaper I have no other choice

Around 10m. We sit him on it before bath every night and sometimes he pees. At 17m he'll go and sit on it, fully clothed, for funsies. I'd like to figure out how to get him PT soon though.

We started with DD at 3 months and DS at 2 months. As long as you keep it positive (no pressure) I don't think there's such a thing as too early!

We started at around 18 months but he didn't really get it until 2 yrs. He's fully potty trained now at 3 but it took a while to get there!

Yeah I have heard it takes longer for boys but I dont know if that is true -

We introduced the potty seat at 16 months. I was hoping to potty train DS, but it didn't work out so well. We continued to encourage him to use it, and at 2 years old he is confident enough to use it when needed. He is not completely potty trained though.

We first introduced the potty seat to my son around 18 months. He was not interested at the time. We didn't introduce it again until we potty trained at almost 3 years old. My daughter started sitting on the potty seat at 1 and potty trained herself to use the potty at 18 months.

@regberadaisy: From my understand elimination communication is when you watch for signs from your baby that they need to go and then put them on the potty from an early age still in the infant stage (under the age of 1)

LO just turned 1, and we're about to introduce it before naps and bedtime. She's probably going to hate it

@Weagle: my LO is 12 months 3 weeks and I put her on the toilet ( with the weepod infant toilet seat over it) every morning and evening and then I give her a toy and she is happy so you never know your LO may not hate it
