DS2 has just started taking a liking to a Jelly Cat lovey my mom gave him at birth. He is 10.5 months old. I don't know if he'll continue to love him but it's pretty cute now. He shoves it in his mouth and rubs it on his face.

DD1 was about 17 months - my sister gave her a soft little dog that no one expected her to fall in love with...but she's almost 4.5 and is still very attached. After this experience (and dealing with not being able to find duplicates of the lovey), we deliberately introduced a lovey to DD2 around the same age (and quickly bought several once we saw that she took to it!)

Around 16 months, after never showing any preference before. Fortunately, her first and main lovely was a very popular Elmo stuffie. Now she has at least 8 that she must have at bedtime!

At 13 months she began an intense love affair with an ugly Beanie Baby bunny.

He was briefly attached to a stuffed Sophie giraffe for a few months but his obsession with his stuffed Katerina Kittycat began when my parents let him choose anything he wanted at Toys R Us when he was around 14mos. He's now 2.5 and she goes everywhere with us. It's so sweet to see him give her kisses!

My daughter became attached to a blanket a friend gave as a gift when she was four months old. It's still her "special" at three. I introduced a lovey to my son around five months and he snuggles it every time he goes to sleep now (he's 1).

@wrkbrk: He did choose! Which I thought was crazy. Now at 2.5 he gets overwhelmed by all the choices and can't decide, but he probably gets that from his indecisive mama!

I started introducing it while nursing at 5 months. By 7 months she was attached. She's over 3 now and is still obsessed with her little lovey. It is just a small A&A satin lined blanket.

No loveys here.
I figured they'd attach to something but at nearly four and nearly two my big girls aren't particularly fond of any one thing.

@oliviaoblivia: that's how my older one is. Not attached to anything in particular. He did go through a phase of needing to have a wubanub (to hold not suck on).

Right after she turned a year old. She's 3 now and still obsessed with her lovey.

We started giving him one (angel dear giraffe) at 6 months when the pediatrician suggested it. He liked it right away (rubs the softness between his fingers and on his face) and it has been a necessary staple for his sleep ever since.
But if you mean attached in that he drags it around and wants to take it places - never! He's a little over two and he still leaves it in the crib. When he is tired he'll ask for it but that just means it's nap or bedtime.

My 10 month old has no interest in a lovey or a certain toy or even a pacifier!

From 10-12 months. He has a jellycat goat and a fuzzy bear he is in love with. It's adorable.

Nothing yet at 15 months. We've tried, and I keep hoping, but no such luck yet.

Around 1 maybe? I started giving 1 to her maybe 5-6 months and at almost 2 years old she is OBSESSED with her blankie.

It seemed a few months ago he was getting interested, but now at almost 2 he doesn't really care. He plays with all his stuffed animals and perhaps the one he was seeming to get a attached to the least. Oh well! I got him a jellycat tiger for xmas and I am gonna start subtly pushing it at all naps and night time.
