I'd say 16.
I didn't start wearing make up until I was 18. I only put eyeliner on. I still only wear eyeliner.

At my middle school, 6th graders weren't allowed to wear any, in fact they made you take it off if they busted you. I was allowed to wear some makeup, like mascara, in 7th grade so I might be okay with that as long as it wasn't a FULL face of makeup.

Definitely not until high school. I hate seeing little girls running around wearing makeup!

High school and maybe special occasions like a school dance or a wedding. Lip gloss is ok before then though.

I wanted to wear purple eyeliner when I was in 7th grade. That was okay by my mom, so she allowed it. I never wore a full face until I started working, and even then I just did concealer/foundation and blush. I never got into eye makeup.

If we have a daughter, I'd say not earlier than 13. That seems like a good rite of passage.

High school - but only eyeliner and lipstick/gloss. When she's a senior or something, she can start experiementing.

I started fiddling with makeup in the 7th grade, and had a system by the 8th grade so I'm sure I'll do the same for my daughter. One thing my mom did for my sister and I was took us to a spa for a makeup lesson with the MUA. She taught us how to properly apply makeup at an early age so we avoided the overdone teenager phase all together.

I say 16 and even then its going to be very minimal. I started wearing makeup when I was about 16 and even then it was just eye shadow and lip gloss

I've always played with my moms makeup here and there. She always allowed me to wear her lipstick. But I didn't really start wearing makeup til college. I could've used some eyebrow plucking much early on though. For my daughter, probably high school, she can start.

I remember wearing all the fun sparkly lip glosses & chapsticks from Bonnie Bell in middle school but didn't wear full make-up (besides dance) until high school. I think helping your 12 year old to cover up a pimple or letting her play with some eye shadow at home is okay but that's very different then allowing or encouraging make-up everyday, etc
