Every time my parents ask R how her day was, she says, "Sucks". She picked it up from my brother. However, she thinks she's sayin "Socks"...LOL!
My parents: "R, how was your day?"
R: Sucks! *lifts her foot to show her socks*

My 4 year old nephew told his mom last weekend 'I'm tired of you bustin' my shit!' after she asked him to not change his outfit a fourth time. That is totally a Grandpa saying!!! Haha

@Rubies: adorable!!
My MIL constantly says "yo" and my parents punished me if I used that word growing up, so we are constantly reminder her not to say "yo"!!
She also says "oh my my my my my my" etc... which Wagon Jr. sometimes picks up after she's left, and it really grates on me.....

I 'accidentally' ( ) taught my niece and nephew to say 'Oh snap!' SIL and BIL don't love me for that one... haha

@swurlygurl: HAHAHA
@MsLipGloss: spill it!
Chloe has started saying "are you kidding me?!" (Guilty!) and has sworn using the word in the correct context (that would be my husband.)

@autumnlove: yup... she's from staten island and my BIL talks like an italian gangster so she's always greeting people with "yo! yo yo yo"

@mrs. wagon: Hahahaha that's so awesome. Sup, yo?!
I'm picturing her like Warren from Empire Records... Yo yo yo wassup . . . Then steals a Whitney Houston cd.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: unfortunately no it's not... not awesome... because I was so forbidden to use the word growing up I really hate it, so it grates on me whenever she says it... and when Wagon Jr. started saying it we had to get her to stop!!! My mom would have a heart attack if she heard my kids say yo. Such a clear indicator of the difference between my very free spirited MIL and my pearls-clutching mom!

@autumnlove: @Mrs. Jump Rope: It's not all that exciting . . . but here you go:
My dad would build a tower with plastic cups so that LO could knock it down. After a few times, he re-built the tower and put his arms around it like he was guarding it while also saying "mine!" in an effort to get LO to knock the tower over again. *sigh* I asked him not to say it, because she had not yet started using it, but it was too late . . . /facepalm

@mrs. wagon: I wasn't allowed to say sucks or watch the Simpsons growing up. I always feel a pang of guilt if we put the Simpsons on!
@MsLipGloss: ohhh you literally meant "mine".
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I WASN'T ALLOWED TO WATCH THE SIMPSONS EITHER! OR SAY "SUCKS"!

@MsLipGloss: Awwh, the mine phase is super annoying!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I wasn't allowed to watch the Simpsons, either! I always feel a little rebellious when I watch, lol

My MIL has so much anxiety. When we lived for them for a bit, she got D saying, "it's making me nervous!" She thought it was sooo cute that he was talking just like her, but I snapped at her and told her that 4 year olds shouldn't have to be that nervous, and it's NOT cute.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: lol, what did you think I meant?
@autumnlove: she hasn't done it recently, but . . . *oy*

@Dandelion: Chloe picked up frustrated from Daniel tiger.
If you aren't smiling she's like "mom! Are you frustrated? ROAR and count to four!"

@MsLipGloss: I was thinking "Ugh, my inlaws/parents..."

@MsLipGloss: I thought at first you meant mine (like you did), but then I read the other comments and decided that maybe they were right, lol.
