Anyone crafting anything fun? I started cutting squares for a wool blanket today. Following this tutorial: http://yellowsuitcasestudios.com/2011/10/31/felted-wool-sweater-blanket-tutorial/

On Christmas Eve I finished a blanket for DD with matching doll sleeping bags. I also made photo bookmarks as Christmas gifts that were such a hit I am making more now! I am going to start a felt tooth fairy bag for DD - want to be prepared! I got a sewing machine for Christmas and haven’t figured out what my first project will be yet, maybe cloth napkins...

@winter_wonder: they are! I used matte photo paper and self laminating sheets, not quite as thick as traditional lamination.

@winter_wonder: thanks! They are so easy and a nice break from traditional photo gifts. All of the grandparents loved them! Hardest part was getting DD to pose for pictures

@catgirl: I’ve got to remember this idea for next Christmas.
I’m crocheting myself a cowl right now. I usually have one or two crochet projects on the go.

I just finished my SILs Christmas gift. She never, ever, asks for anything but saw this in a shop window and fell in love. I sneakily made it using some plywood we had lying around, craft paint and my silhouette.

I’m currently finishing two pairs of knitted socks for my husband that I did not manage to finish for Xmas (largely because I decided to make me and my girls matching Christmas outfits). And I’m finishing up a knitted hat for my niece (she was out of town for Christmas so it’s not *technically* late).

I made these for the girls. Usually I do the little animals, and our youngest uses them as lovies and needs several. The rainbow mermaid was a request from O, so of course I did it to "look like" her. The hair took FOREVER, and I didn't finish until 2 AM Christmas Day.

@winter_wonder: Wow! That tutorial was amazing. Lol, I'm not into sewing so I'm easily amused. But you've inspired me - thanks for sharing!

I’m finishing a quilt for DS. He’s our third, and with our first two, their quilts were done before they were born, but not this time around. I have the most time intensive part done, but need to finish it all! If I don’t do it before my maternity leave is over I’m afraid I won’t finish!

@Mrs. Turtle: Impressive! Those are so cute.
@mrsmacSLP: I love this. Great job!
@catgirl: Cute! I might have to make some doll blankets like this.

@mrsmacSLP: I love it!
@mrs. Turtle: that hair is gorgeous!
@sugarplumsmom: as with all projects, my enthusiasm is high and the beginning and can fade away quickly, lol.

Everyone made such gorgeous things.
I usually end up with the desire/need to make something right before Christmas. This year it was this ornament to represent all the Mo Willems we've read this year. It wasn't done by Christmas but it made it on the tree.

@catgirl: Those doll sleeping bags are adorable!
@mrsmacSLP: Love that!
@Ajsmommy: Love the purple/silver wreath!
We re-did both LO's rooms (no more shared room) so I made some decor... DD got a huge rainbow canvas, and DS got the Dinosaur hunter sign and I printed out the dinosaur skeletons to replace his previous woodland artwork.
