I'm not reading anything right now, but I hope to get a book or two for Christmas so I can start reading again...that may be wishful thinking with a LO though.

@blackbird: Ooh, I loved that book!
I just finished reading "The Help" last night. Fantastic book. It's amazing how far we've come, yet we still have so far to go.

@boiledpnut I LOVE The Help! Such a great book (and movie)!
I'm reading The Casual Vacancy right now. I'm a bit disappointed in it so far, but Harry Potter is a lot to live up to!

@Bao It's about a little town in England that isn't as peaceful as it seems. A man who sits on the local city council dies and finding a replacement brings lots of drama. All of the characters and side stories are connected, but that's the biggest story that ties them all together. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through but plan to finish it while I'm off this week
I also just finished reading The Discovery of Witches and bought the second one but haven't started it yet. Has anyone else read it? It's AMAZING.

I'm not really reading anything right now. I started "Mercy" by Jodi Picoult a few weeks ago but I just can't get into it. Her books usually suck me in, but this one is just boring.
I got 4 books from the library the other day. I need to get to reading! I got:
The Girl Who Chased the Moon - Sarah Addison Allen
The Sugar Queen - Sarah Addison Allen
Divergent - Veronica Roth
Home Front - Kristin Hannah
@Rubies: I loved that book! So good!
@Bao: @Rainbow Sprinkles: I read that a couple of years ago. I thought it was good but the story was so slow.

@Sweet T: I love Jodi Picoult's books, but I have found a couple of hers boring.

@fussygal: Absolutely LOVED Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night! I recommend reading Shadow of Night soon because my mom waited a long time to start the second one after reading the first one and had a hard time getting into it. There are a ton of characters!
I'm reading A Dance with Dragons (Game of Thrones book 5.) I wanted to wait because it's going to be forever until the next one, but I just couldn't wait!

@fussygal That's funny that you mention it because I'm totally worried about not being able to remember all the little details and characters from the first one. That gives me motivation to get started soon!

@fussygal: @JerricaBenton: yesss, loved a discovery of witches and shadow of night!
right now i just finished interred with their bones and i'm working on haunt me still - they're a series (well, there's only two...) about a modern day shakespearean historian who is drawn into shakespeare-like historical mysteries - i've been really enjoying them, even though i feel like some of the shakespeare parts are going over my head a bit ha

@JerricaBenton: I just finished A Dance of Dragons on Thursday!!! I hate that I have to wait so long for some resolution!!
As for me, I'm on vacation for a couple days before Christmas and have had a lot of reading time. Just finished The Art of Racing In The Rain today and am about to start American Gods just in time for our flight home tomorrow.

@sweetchic: I read Gone Girl with a friend in September. I liked it, actually. She liked it but hated the ending.
@fussygal: I just put A Casual Vacancy on my Kindle. It's next on my list!
I actually just finished my book I was reading last night. I'm about to start A Casual Vacancy. I also want to read The Night Circus.

Just started The Hobbit! It's been fun and I'd like to finish before seeing the movie over this holiday break. Also am reading Round House by Louise Erdrich which is great but intense, so fun hobbit reading on the side is helpful...

@fussygal: I did hear that a studio bought the rights to the book! I'm excited about a movie because the book had such strong imagery. I just hope they find a director that has vision!

It's sad, but I haven't pick up a book in months, and the last one I read was a dry, albeit interesting book about modern day North Korea. I need a reading break this week while DH is home.

@knittylady: the Hobbit was on my Christmas list this year, we will see if Santa brings it to me
