I don't think we have plans yet. Maybe well do something with friends this year. I just want to dress up Olive as a little turkey!! Is it sad that that is my motive to give thanks to my nation?
What are you doing for (American) Thanksgiving?

I am cooking at home for the first time. I'm so excited, bc usually we are visiting with family. That's always fun, but I am so eager to plan a big meal with my husband!

Gonna pick up a small bird and have a quiet thanksgiving at home. Will invite some friends too! My family's coming out in dec for baby boy's birth. Dh's fam will be spending thanksgiving in tX with the Inlaws.

We will probably spend it with both families as usual! DH's family for a huge lunch, and then my family for a huge dinner. By about 7 PM we are normally in a food coma!

We usually host! But, not this year-- hopefully we'll be home with our LO and enjoying QT as a new family of 3 (+ 2 furbabies) and maybe our parents!

We are going to DH's grandmother's house in NJ, although I haven't broken the news yet to my mother--this is LOs first turkey day and my mom thinks all the holidays are going to be spent with her.

I'm not sure. We will do Thanksgiving dinner but it will either be just us, my parents and us or if any of our friends don't have plans, we'll invite them over.

@mrsjyw: you're going to be a Mommy at Thanksgiving!!!

@mediagirl: I hope so! I think the latest doc will let me go is 11/25.... so we may just miss it! Or I've always had this feeling that I'll be in labor on T-day!

We always go down to DH's aunt's cabin on the Cheseapeake Bay. It's pretty sacred in our family. Aunt Nan is in Belgium right now but we're told the cabin survived Sandy intact...not sure about the cliffs and beach, though

I'm going to DH's aunt's house. We go there for dinner every year. While the food is cooking everyone decorates their Christmas tree.

There will be snack food and football at our house (or maybe my parents house). We're Canadian but we are also HUGE Lions fans, so T-day is a great day for a little football fun

Heading to my Aunt's house, the whole family is together this year. I can't wait for some fried turkey, mashed potatoes and my grandma's stuffing.

We're both foreign so don't usually bother with anything. MIL decided that she wanted to host this year, so we'll be there I guess unless baby comes early.

I'm cooking dinner here in my tiny Brooklyn apartment. I have done Thanksgiving for two years now, and I love making the majority of the meal. It allows me to be a control freak, too. One major change this year is the my BIL and SIL will be coming with my niece. She is over 2 years old and has never been to visit us even though they live a 4 hour drive away. I was shocked when they said they were coming because my SIL never has a holiday away from her mother. I don't care how cramped my apartment is; I love the fact that I am going to be able to eat food I know I like, and that I don't have to go to my ILs (We are always there and they come to visit maybe once per year and live 3.5 hours away).

We usually split the day between our 2 families... it's tricky! Maybe we'll host something that weekend for our friends, hrmm.

I want to dress Cobi up as a turkey too!!
We are going up to my aunts house and celebrating with my dad's side of the family. Then we'll do a smaller gathering with my immediate family at my parents house. I love thanksgiving. One of my favorite holidays.
My sister and mom have gone mostly paleo - so I'm excited for this thanksgiving especially! I found a paleo pumpkin pie recipe I really want to try.

We always watch the Macy's parade and go over to the in laws for a big lunch then watch the cowboys game!

We're going to Las Vegas as usual. My mom's bday always falls on or w/in a day or two of Thanksgiving and she always picks Vegas. Our "tradition" is buffet lines and Black Friday shopping at the outlet! The husbands are happy to have each other now so they can watch games at the sportsbook!

@mrbee: aw that sounds so cute! Do you guys have a costume picked out? I'd love to do that with L!!
We will be having the big, traditional dinner with my fam!!

@MungBean: Nope... I was only inspired after seeing how cute she looked in her strawberry outfit last night!

I'm having a baby for Thanksgiving. Actually, it's totally up in the air, as we have no clue what will be happening. It might be hospital turkey or it might be in-laws delivering to the house or it might be DH cooking for the family. We'll see!

@Andrea: That's so awesome!!!
We're going to drive up and spend it with my family in OK. We'll go have traditional Thanksgiving lunch together, then do other things together as a family. Usually scope out the ads for Black Friday while watching football.

We'll be in NY! Think we'll smoke the turkey again this year. We always alternate between making a turducken and smoking it. My husband and I always do the turkey trot thanksgiving morning and we'll get to do that this year after a year off.

We're going to just stay here at home. We might invite FIL over. We'll see. I think DH wants to smoke a turkey this year.

going to my parents house. DH's immediate family and my immediate family have done thanksgiving together for the last 3 years, so it's fun!

my grandma has decided to pass the thanksgiving cooking tradition down to my mom, so we'll be having our first thanksgiving at my mom's house. since it's her first, my sister-in-law and i are helping her cook all morning. i'm really excited about cooking! ...well, more excited about eating -- and i can eat for two this year!

@mrbee: DS has a turkey hat I put on him when I play dress up with the kids. It's soooooooo cute!
We're going to my parents' house for like 5 days. Wish me luck!

@Honeybee: Ooh nice!
5 days? You have the pioneer spirit!

Our usual at my grandma's. My MIL knows what we do every year and she asked about it yesterday, so I'm not sure what she has up her sleeve. I'm hoping she doesn't try to do her own little turkey with just us when we already invite her over. It's frustrating when people make you unnecessarily split your time.

we are going to my parents' for Thanksgiving, probably will go shopping with my mom on Friday, then my baby shower is the Saturday after.
