My SIL texted me and asked if I wanted to host Mother's Day. I'm not sure if I want to since its my birthday weekend, our apartment is super small and I'm just plan ol' lazy.
Give me some ideas, if its easy enough I may say yes.

If I'm not having/just had a baby, we'll go to DH's uncle. It's potluck style--he grills up some pork tenderloins for us all....everyone else brings salad, side dishes, sodas, breads, dessert....and then we sit outside on the patio and drink beer and talk. Very low key for us. It helps that all our family functions are potluck.

My Mom is far away and it is the weekend after LO's birthday and DH has to work. I imagine that I will spend the day with my sister and my girl and we will have a girls day together. Maybe go out to lunch or breakfast or something.

We usually go out to brunch. Doesn't get much easier than someone else cooking and cleaning.

I usually get breakfast in bed and then we grill out for dinner. I also like to go out and shop ALONE

We all go to my Aunt's every year. The Dad's all plan the menu and cook. All the kids if old enough and don't have your own kids, do the dishes.

Going to Asheville for the weekend, so on actual Mother's Day we will be driving home 4 hours, and will probably go to my mom's house that evening. Since I'm in my first trimester, what I would LIKE to do is sleep all damn day.

No idea! Nothing the day off probably, since we're at church anyway. But I def want to do something nice for my mom since I appreciate her so much more now that I'm a mom!

@bunnylove08: I wouldn't sign up to clean the house before, prepare a meal and host, and then clean the house again after the visitors come on Mother's day! Why not just suggest meeting out for brunch somewhere.

Getting massages and Mexican food with a girlfriend the night before Mother's Day as our gift to one another. Going to either brunch or dinner with DH and LO on actual Mother's Day.

My birthday falls on Mothers Day this year. We are doing brunch with family and friends.

That would be a "me" day for me so I would prefer to go out to eat then get a mani/pedi or something that relaxes me. I would not want to host anything that weekend.

@bunnylove08: what?! Who asks a mother to host Mother's Day!!! That's just weird.
But we always end up hosting Mother's Day because can't ask mil to host!
DH and I haven't talked about yet. Gotta get through DD's birthday first.
I don't mind hosting as long as I get some part of the day just the 4 of us. I think last year we had them over for brunch then the rest of the day was ours (mine). Probably invite them over for dinner and I'll ask to go out to brunch. And I'll ask that we make a super simple meal so I don't feel compelled to help and end up doing all the dishes after everyone leaves.

I think we're just going out to dinner. I've never heard of someone "hosting" Mother's Day! We usually take my MIL out to brunch but I'm not sure if we're doing that this year. I guess we're lazy, we always let a restaurant do the cooking.

Probably just hang out the three of us. Family is all far away. Last year we did brunch then went to a nearby golf course with a grassy spot for c to play and an outdoor bar.

@regberadaisy: haha i know right! Its SIL's first mothers days so i get she wants to do something nice for us and MIL. I'm thinking the husbands should plan something.

@Anagram: I think I might suggest that but then again its trying to beat the crowds. I'm usually one to celebrate earlier or later so we dont get sucked into the crowds.

Sleep in, dh usually cooks a huge brunch and then we usually do something together as a family
