I have my husband's gift from Sadie done already, but I have no idea what to get my dad. I got him a card, but want to do something else. Any suggestions? What are y'all doing?

A simple human hands free hand sanitizer machine. Kind of a half joke because when he was in the hospital waiting room waiting for DD to be born he was obsessed with the hand sanitizer machine , lol

My brother and I get my parents Netflix for Mother's Day and Father's Day every year!

I got him a rotisserie for his grill. DH and I said no gift for each other for Mother's and Father's Day this year. Just a nice dinner at home Sat night and breakfast Sunday morning.

@Smurfette: We're not doing gifts for each other either! We try to stick to "experiences" instead of gifts. For Mother's Day we had a family day at the beach, and for Father's Day we'll actually be doing our family day in Mexico. I wanted him to have something from Sadie though, so she and I made him a little something!

@photojane: We got sod for our front yard last week, so I am calling that our gift. And the water bill will be a gift in itself.
What did you make? I bought a card for R to sign, and I am guessing day care will do something, but I still want to do something with her but I haven't found something easy.

@Adira: That is an amazing idea - I wish I had seen this literally 10 minutes ago!
I just bought my dad a new Starbucks mug + coffee beans (that are similar to my name!
). I have to ship gifts, so that makes it difficult. It's already probably going to be late... fail!

@swurlygurl: Save it for next year (and every year after that)!!!

@Smurfette: That's awesome. I'm seriously jealous. I'd love to get sod put down... our yard is entirely weeds. It's awful.
I made a little booklet in Word. A page for every year from now until she's 18 with a little space for her to draw him a picture & write him a note. Then a place on the opposite page for a picture of them together. That way when she leaves for college, he'll have 18 years worth of notes/drawings & pictures of them together. Obviously I had to write her note this year, but she colored the page!

@swurlygurl: @Adira: I think it's a great idea too, but my dad would have no idea how to operate Netflix. He has never even used a computer!

@photojane: hahahahaha, well maybe you could start him off with some stuff you'd think he'd like and teach him??? No advice there... my dad's a tech guy.

@Smurfette: If you have the time to put it together, I'd be happy to send you the file.
If not, I think framing toddler artwork is always cute! If you Google "I love you dad coloring sheet" there are a bunch of cute coloring page options.

@photojane: Sweet! I will wall you my address. I should have time. R has her well visit tomorrow, so I have to take a half day but can't get her right away due to nap.

@photojane: whyyyyyyy didn't you tell me that 2 years ago?!?! Cutest idea ever!
I got my dad a shutterfly mousepad with some of his favorite pictures of J. I got the same for DH but different pictures

We got him a mug and photobook using pictures from LO's six month photo shoot.

@Adira: It might be a lost cause with him. Ha! He can turn the TV on and press the channel & volume buttons. Anything other than that, he calls for my mom. He's only 58 -- you'd think he's 80!

I'm planning on getting my dad a new work wardrobe from head to toe (new shirt, pants, belt, socks, and shoes). He desparately needs it!! Everyone looks up to him at his job and he's a reporting manager. He needs to look better!

@photojane: omg!!! That is such a freaking cute idea!!! I love it, love it, love it!!!

My brother is taking him to the US Open. So I got him a ball cap with the us open logo for him to wear to it.

Ughhh I wish I knew! I considered getting him a wood cutting board that had an image of Heisenberg on it and says, "Let's cook," but my mom said she would kill me. She's no fun
Netflix is a good idea in theory, but he's hopeless with technology. One year I bought him a Harmony remote, and he still hasn't mastered the fact that when he wants to watch a movie, all he has to do is press the button that SAYS 'watch a movie.' Sigh.

@babyjmama: A mousepad is a FABULOUS idea! Crap. I think I'm too late lol. Shooooot.

@babyjmama: Well I just ordered mousepads for my grandpa and my dad. They're supposed to get here Monday. Boooooo. Oh well. I'll give them their cards on Sunday and let them know that their presents are coming. I think they'll both genuinely appreciate the mousepads and I'd much rather give them that than scramble to find something last minute that they won't use/like!

Just a card. Oh, and he's coming to my house that night for a dessert buffet but that's more in celebration of C's 1st birthday!
We're not too big on Mother's/Father's day.

For my fil, we are getting him this Hawaiian shirt in the colors of his favorite college team, haha. It's kind of ugly, but he'll love our and mil said it was ok.
