I spent the morning with my future son-in-law (sorry @babyjmama) and he is an ear puller while DD puts her head down no matter what she's doing.
What are you little one's sleep cues?

She becomes a cranky, tantrum-y, mommy clingy mess!

Lots of eye rubbing. That's the major sign. Plus she just looks tired. Other times she'll go from crazy happy active baby to zonked after nursing for 3 minutes. So weird.

@BlueWolverine: that was LO's when she was younger!

Rubbing his eyes, tugging his ears, but especially back arching tantrums. He's started just lying down on the floor recently too.

he kinda zones out, but it's kind of hard to tell because he fights sleep. when he yawns/rubs his eyes or ears, he's pretty far gone and i have to throw him into the crib. i *wish* he would just put his head down, or yawn earlier.

Rubbing her eyes and her eyelids get red. She will yawn too.

Running eyes, pulling ears, head-butting the ground or me. Getting really whiny. Walking over to the crib and holding the slats, lol.

Yawn, more verbal, fingers in mouth. She's pretty easy to read!

Eye rubbing, crankiness, and he will borough his head into my chest/shoulder if I'm holding him.

The earliest cue is if she's sitting down, she'll crane her neck to one side (she's done that since she was a newborn). The other cues are that she'll get a sudden burst of energy, but be very clumsy.

eye rubbing, glazed look, and yawning!
but he's pretty scheduled so gets put down for a nap way before any signals! thankfully he loves naps.... and so do i.

Eye rubbing, yawning, glassy eyes.
Though sometimes there are no cues and he just falls asleep!!! That's the best.

I'm following this because I think I'm missing my LO's early sleep cues. He's an overtired mess by the time I try to get him down! I'm thinking there may be some listed here I haven't been looking for yet

Eye rubbing, yawning, and the occasional shrieking when she is really tired.

@BlueWolverine: i noticed the red eyes/eyebrows thing in LO (ten weeks) and i worried it was allergies! will pay more attention to this!

@maybebaby: Me too! I never considered my LO's red eyebrows could mean she is getting sleepy! Looking out for this now.
At this point, i have noticed she just gets a little fussy and yawns.

Yawn or cranky. He has always been tough with the cues.
