I'm currently reading A Clash of Kings and I just ordered:
-The Art of Racing in the Rain: A Novel
-In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin (I heard a story about this one on NPR, and I like the author).
-The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (also heard about it on NPR)
-Bringing Up Bebe: One American Mother Discovers the Wisdom of French Parenting
-Bossypants

all creatures great and small by james herriot. sweet, amusing memoir of a vet in the english countryside in the early 1900s.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@Bao: Will do! It's actually the one I waffled about the most, but it was well-reviewed enough on Amazon that I decided to give it a shot.

The thirteenth tale. It's been entertaining but not quite as gripping as some other books I've read. It's an easy read though!

I'm reading Sophie Kinsella's new book (Wedding Night). I have devoured literally every other one of her books, but this one I am finding very boring. I'm struggling to get through it!

The Gifts of Imperfection. There's so much in the book that I'm probably going to have to read it twice.
pomelo / 5509 posts
@Bao: The Art of Racing in the Rain is sooo good, but it is also really sad!
@.twist.: Really? I loved The Thirteenth Tale. I read it a few years ago now so it is kind of fuzzy, but I definitely remember it being gripping!
@char54: Aw, that makes me sad. I usually love Sophie Kinsella, she's hilarious, but I haven't read the new one.
As for me, I'm still making my way through Owen Meany. It feels like I only have time to read a few pages a day!

I just finished the selection and the elite by kiera cass. They are YA novels....a cross between thr hunger games and the bachelor.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Bao: She has a few novels! I think one was called Something Borrowed.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

@Bao: RE: Baby Proof.. the author has Something Borrowed and then Something Blue! Baby Proof kind of mentions the people from the first two, but its not about the same people.
I'm reading The Storyteller. Recently read Gone Girl and On The Island and loved both! Next is Wild.

@FutureMrsMcK: I loved Bossypants! I have a major girlcrush on Tina Fey. I lol'd several times while reading it.
I'm not reading anything right now, but I really want to read Bloom by Kelle Hampton!

@char54: crap! I want to read it.. and I usually fly through hers as well! That's too bad.

@Bao: oh it's pretty good. I bought mine at the drug store. With baby on my mind, seemed like a good read. It's about two different women struggling to have children, and their lives converge. I'm enjoying it so far.

I just finished Beautiful Creatures. I borrowed it from an 11 year old.
I am not ashamed.
Just remembered I have Single Infertile Female on my kindle.
ETA: apparently I'm only 7% done Me Before You ... Hmmm.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@sera_87: Lol I haven't read it yet, but my mother sent me Beautiful Creatures.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
@FutureMrsMcK: it's actually fairly decent. I love the PoV, such a refreshing change from all these female-driven leads in this type of fiction lately

Tana French. Yum! I will send her a bill for the shower door that I broke because I was too busy reading to actually clean the stuff I was "cleaning." Addictive detective novels set in Ireland. Plus, it's something that Mr. T and I can read "together" (first him, then me, or vice versa) and then discuss. I love when we find books we both enjoy.

@wheres_c: I read The Selection last week. I thought it was pretty cute, which is an odd thing to say after reading dystopian fiction...
I just finished the most recent Dresden Files book which was amazing, but they all are.
pomelo / 5789 posts
@Mrs. Superhero: Yeah, I thought it was cute and light. I dont have the time anymore to ready "heavier" stuff.
Let me know if you're interested in reading the elite. I have the kindle version and can "lend" it to you if you want.

I'm reading beautiful creatures too. Yeah for young adults books. It's all my brain can handle at the end if the day. @blackbird: my husband just told me about this one. I really want to read it.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@IRunForFun: I am enjoying it a lot. I honestly don't know why it's not keeping me 100% invested. I think I'm just waiting to read the next game of thrones and I just can't stop thinking about that book!! It definitely has been an interesting story!
GOLD / pear / 1845 posts
@wheres_c: I would love to borrow it, I don't know when my library will get it in
do you need my email?
pomelo / 5789 posts
@Mrs. Superhero: I spoke too soon I think, I went to my kindle account to check I out and it said "lending not enabled for this title ".
Will let yo know if this changes

@Bao: With any luck, you'll be reading The Storyteller soon!
I'm not reading anything right now. I have a B&N gift card to use so I'm browsing right now. I'm thinking about Fly Away by Kristin Hannah and maybe starting either the Matched series or the Delirium series.

I love threads like this - so many good books to add to my Kindle wish list so when I need something new to read, I have a great selection!
I just started Sarum by Edward Rutherfurd. It's a bit of an older book (written in the 80s) but it sounded like an interesting read if you like historical fiction. It's set in southern England and follows several families through time, starting with the Paleolithic period and concluding well into the 20th century. I've only just started it, based on a recommendation from a friend, so we'll have to see how it goes!
I just finished Fall of Giants by Ken Follett and love, love, loved it!

@Bao: I'm just starting to read "The Hunger Games" right now. I'm way behind on the times. I saw the movie long before reading the book.
