I'm pretty ambivalent! DH has crazy baby fever, but I'm not really actively trying. I told him last week, I just don't have the same baby fever excitement as you! Maybe I never will. I know I want two children, but we are just going to not try, not prevent. I've been focusing on losing weight, decorating our new house, and spending time with LO!

For life to settle down and for us to decide that we do want a second LO. We are totally 50/50 at this point on it.

To feel emotionally ready to handle the ups and downs of a pregnancy after loss (or God forbid another loss). Getting there, but not ready yet.

Waiting for a few things:
(1) I have a work trip to Mexico at the beginning of next summer and want to avoid any Zika-related complications.
(2) Waiting on my work situation to stabalize--I am on a contract that is only guaranteed for a year. As I am the primary breadwinner I don't want to find myself pregnant & unemployed!! -
1. Avoiding 2 under 2
2. Building a house
3. Having DD a little more self sufficient so I can focus on a new baby.Hopefully going to ttc this winter, depending on house construction. Scary though, I bounced back easily the first time, worried I will have a harder recovery the second time around.

Couple things... We're heading to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving so need to come back, fake Zika symptoms and get tested. AND I can't be out during Q4 at work so I need a December due date or later. So that means no TTC until March, I think?
ETA: I also would like some core strength back first... Is that even possible??

@Mrs. Microscope: Yes, avoiding two under two was a huge thing for me. DH was ready to try when I was 9 months postpartum. I didn't start feeling like myself until over a year after baby even though I had "recovered."
@LindsayInNY: Hi friend! Yes! I started pure barre at the beginning of the month. They showed me modifications for the core exercises since my core is so so weak. I still cannot plank, and stay on my knees. However, I'm getting there. I also lost a dress size in 3 weeks! I can feel myself toning up, and everyone is super friendly. I signed up for a year contract I love it so much. They also introduced new platform cardio classes. It's all low impact, and I love that it's not hard on me like running.

Uhhh... until I forget the horribleness of the first year?? (my son is 13 months) LOL. Seriously, we had such a rough time I am not 100% sure I want another. My husband is ready. I am not. My son cried 24/7, never slept, had horrific reflux and food intolerances (still dealing with this) and I still feel scarred!

I'd like to have a 2nd, but I'm still working on managing my time and money as the only working parent with just one child. If we can make it work, it won't be for about 3 more years when DS is close to kindergarten age. Then we won't be ttc, we would do FET.

Waiting for a couple contacts to fund for DH's business. He's very conservative with money and didn't want a fourth until he pretty much has the money in the bank to support 18yrs. Also for my body to recover. I think I'd like a baby this time next year but we'll probably wait a bit past that. SIL is getting married in NZ and I'd like to attend, but that's smack in the middle of when I'd like another.

Waiting til at least my daughters second birthday, she's 19 months now. I had such baby fever when she was much younger but now she's so fun and I'm so happy to just have her!
@dc yoga bee: like you I know I want another but I just don't think I will get baby fever again like the first time. It's easier for me not to get caught up in the idea now that I have my LO to keep me busy. But who knows, I might be singing a different tune in a few months

I'd LOVE to have a February-April baby (or an early June baby!) and since I get 5 more tries with Clomid, I'm waiting until May 2017 to TTC. I know you can't plan the timing of a pregnancy, but you CAN plan when to take Clomid...

We were going to TTC in September, but then OH got a new job and won't be eligible for FMLA until June. So we pushed to October. Then I scheduled my pap late and I know I will need at least a colposcopy so that pushes it now until November. November would make LOs two years apart so maybe it is good we are not doing it sooner!

to finish grad school (next spring!), for work to slow down, to wrap my mind around another one. loving my dd1 right now - 20 months - and can't quite imagine going back to those baby days, but giving myself time to get there.

@oliviaoblivia: How does that play out? Do you wait to try? My sil is getting married around the time I would be due if we started trying around lo 2nd bday and were successful. She already said she wants me to be a bridesmaid, and they live 10hrs away. I was on bed rest with the first pregnancy with hyperemesis. I would need to skip March-June ttc pretty much!

Nothing really. Lately we have been exploring other options to add to our family. We attempted to adopt and that failed, we're doing foster care again and also never opposed to adding to our family the old fashioned way. However it happens, it will happen I guess!

I think we are both nervous about having a 2nd when we know that DH (sole provider for our family right now) will be trying to change careers in the next year. Finances, time commitments, possible moves & stress levels are all concerns. I'm AMA (43), so we probably only have another year or 2 to try, so we don't feel we can really wait to get DH settled, either. We are ntnp as of now, but mostly because we just can't commit to either decision.
