I only have 1, she turns 3 on June 1st, and my only real worries are potty training (she can do it but doesn't care enough to, and I'm afraid they won't move her to the 3s classroom if she doesn't get into underwear by her birthday) and the need she seems to have to put everything in her mouth, especially when she's tired or feeling stressed/frustrated. I'm afraid to take the pacifier away because it calms her down for sleep (she's fine without it 99% of the time, only needs it to settle down to sleep) and I'm nervous she'll replace it with her thumb because her oral response is so strong.

DD1 is being very ornery lately. I'm worried about her being so angry and hope she's happier soon. If anything doesn't go her way she gets so upset.

DD2 is similarly a later talker than DD1. She has a few words but not half of what big sister had at this age. Trying hard not to compare!

DD3 is very very large. I'm worried she'll have health problems down the road because of it.

Switching her day care next month and how that is going to go.

DD1 (2.5) - dh and I solidifying and unifying our parenting approach/discipline approach. She is really starting to test us and manipulate us and we need to get a handle on it.

DD2 (5w) - keeping her alive (kind of joking) and getting past the work hurdle w breastfeeding!

DD recently started pulling up and is trying to cruise. I worry about her hurting herself significantly because she's not very steady! She winds up bumping herself and in tears multiple times a day.

I’m not really worried about anything…..except Kindergarten! Gah, and LO is only 3.5 (4 in June), so I have a year to think about it! I’m really anxious about what to do about Kinder and how it will all work and really torn between a private place close to my work or our (good) public school near our house but 25 minutes from work.

How does before and after care work at our school? Can I hire a teenage girl to nanny LO from pickup to 6pm when we get home? I know I’m being crazy, but my heart is pounding right now just typing this all out.

Less true worry but more like “crap I have to do this soon and it is NOT going to be easy” are finally taking away the paci 100%. We talk a lot about how when LO turns 4 the paci fairy must take away all pacis and give them to babies who need them. LO told me the other day that paci “is my buddy. He’s my best friend. He is EVERYTHING to me!!!” lol I was dying. But yeah, she won’t give that little buddy up easily. Ditto to getting out of my bed and into her own.

DD1 - her adjustment to being a big sister. She's very sad, very angry, behaving appallingly (hitting, kicking, spitting, deliberately pissing on the floor, eating play doh for a reaction), keeps stamping to wake the baby then crying because the baby's cries "hurt her ears", and keeps saying she doesn't like her baby sister. We are trying so hard to give her loads of time with us, letting her feel her emotions, accepting her.... but its really tough for everyone.

Dd2 (6 days old) - breastfeeding. Its just not working. She's narcoleptic at the breast, frustrated at latch on (freaks out, thirty attempts to latch, finally does it, three sucks, back to sleep), keeps popping off, my nipples are mangled, she screams all night (and wakes big sister)..... we have been supplementing because she is so jaundiced and now I'm getting mastitis in one breast (struggling to pump enough with a baby who won't be put down and a needy toddler).

@junebugsmama: my LO has build up on her front teeth too. I have crappy teeth prone to tartar and stuff and I'm afraid I passed that on to her (DH has never had a cavity!). And that we don't do a good enough job brushing her teeth.

@junebugsmama: yeah she went twice, first one was just to get her used to the chair and they looked at her teeth and counted them. Second time they actually "cleaned" her teeth- scraped that little bit of build up off and brushed. She actually did great. The Usborne books "Going to the Dentist" book was really helpful. We went at just about 2.5 years.

DD 16 months: STTN it has become such a crap shoot lately

@Cherrybee: I just wanted to say I hope things get easier soon. That sounds really hard, both the toddler and baby. It sounds like you're doing an amazing job of meeting your LOs needs and working to figure out how to help both of them.
I hope you get some rest and that the new normal settles in soon and becomes easier.

How DS (2 years) will treat his baby brother in a few months. And all the tantrums. We are trying to deal with the picky eating now vs when he is older but I'm getting tired of the whining at every meal.

@yoursilverlining: I totally think you could hire a trustworthy teenage girl to do aftercare for your DD once she's in kindergarten!

@Foodnerd81: ugh, yes. The tantrums and defiant behavior. That is our #1 biggest issue with DD. Potty training her was a breeze in comparison!

For DS, I'm just slightly nervous about the kindergarten transition this fall. It will be such a massive change going from his daycare class of 12 to an incoming kindergarten class of about 120. He will also be switching languages, which I'm not that worried about, but it will still be a major change.

Eating and allergies. LO was (is) MSPI and now last night had an allergic reaction to hummus. She has been super slow to start solids, still really doesn't eat much and it's been really hard to figure out what she can and cannot eat. Heading to the Dr. in a few and hoping we can get referred to an allergist now that she is past one because I feel like we need help.

@petitenoisette: Just want to give you a little hope that hummus is actually a common allergy because it has tahini which is made from sesame seeds which are a very common allergy. It stinks, but its probably not a sign that she'll have lots of allergies! My LOs have both had tons of intolerances as babies requiring me to eliminate dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, fish and nuts while nursing. My 3 year old outgrew them all and had allergy testing when she was 18 months that showed just a very mild pecan allergy. I'm hoping my 5 month old follows suit!

@yoursilverlining: does your daycare offer aftercare?

Just making sure LO grows up to be sweet and kind. He's 20 months and has been a little aggressively lately, which I know is normal and he says "uh oh" immediately after so he knows it isn't nice... I just want him to be a nice kid at school, but a bully.

With B, I worry about him watching too much tv because it's still too cold to spend too much time outside, especially with the new baby. I also worry about making sure he's still getting enough attention.

With W, I'm worried that he'll never sleep in a bassinet and I'm going to spend the next 6 months sleeping in a recliner with him on my chest.

@petitenoisette: Same here. I had to eliminate milk, soy, eggs, wheat, corn, peas, peanuts, and nuts while BF. She's still nursing at 9 months but in the last month I have been able to add most of those foods back into my diet. She eats lots of fruits and vegetables, plus quinoa and oatmeal, but I'm afraid to try a lot of other things. We don't have a family history of food allergies, so I'm hoping they're just intolerances and she has or will grow out of them. But it's so scary!

DS is almost 2. I am a worrier by nature but a few things seem to be rising to the top these days. Transitioning him to a new preschool/daycare in June, figuring out how to get rid of the pacifier, and because I have a lot of guilt about WOH I am terrible at setting boundaries and saying no - I really don't want to raise a spoiled kid who doesn't listen or won't accept a no.
