Our daughter's preschool is closed for sure, and I'm not sure if we'll send our son or not. We will probably have the kids at home, and take turns working/watching the kids.
What are your plans for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day?

I'll be working. We don't have MLK Day off.
Yesterday, I saw the movie Selma and then Wikipedia'd all of the notables. Blackish's MLK episode was spot on how my family celebrated when I was growing up- we went skiing.

It's the one day gap between my husband leaving his old job Sunday and starting his new one Tuesday, and we have no insurance for MLK Day...so nobody is allowed to leave the house or operate anything dangerous.

My husband is off--regular day off not because of the holiday--so we're going to a movie and dinner! Haven't been on a date in forever. So excited!

Daycare is open but my school is closed, so I am having my first day to myself since D was born in October and I am SO EXCITED! Going to try to get the house cleaned up but definitely doing something for myself too, I might splurge and go get a manicure or something.

@Katrocap: I wouldn't be surprised if it is; around here it's pretty split in half with schools having that day off or not.

Daycare is open and my office is closed. Yessss! So LO will go to daycare and I'll go grocery shopping, get a massage (my Christmas gift from DH), and take a nap. I've been solo parenting since Wednesday so I'm counting down the minutes til Monday

I have work. DH is off.... I'm encouraging him to let me take LO to daycare so he can relax. He's been doing a lot around the house while I am battling my nausea so he deserves it.

@avivoca:
DH is off so they are spending the day together. My mom usually watches her on Mondays but we are giving her the day off. I could take the day off because I freelance but I am going to work.

@Katrocap: His school is closed, but his afterschool program has an all day option available. He's still a bit sick now, so it depends on whether or not he's fever free for 24 hours by then!
