Love love love getting photo cards! I save them every year so I can see all my friends' families growing. It's so much fun to look through the old cards every Christmas

Love photo cards! Can't wait to take a picture for our holiday cards this year. Should be interesting with a toddler and infant.

@Adira: I think getting a photo with a card and photo card is the same thing in my book! I love getting photos of any type!

@bluestriped bee: Personally, I prefer to just get a regular photo because I like to be able to put the photo out year-round and I hate having a festive card for that.

Also, I HATE photocards because I display all my cards on our mantle or bookcase and photocards don't stand up on their own (unless someone actually gets a folded one, but I've never received one of those).

@Adira: Ah, I see. We tape all of our cards and photocards to the wall or the closet door.

I send photo cards, but I always always always hand write a personal message in them. I usually include a letter in some of my relatives cards, too. I completely remove the spot that says "Love, Last Name" from the layout of the cards. It really bugs me when people don't at least sign their own name. It really doesn't take that long and it feels like they actually wrote it out for you... like write the person you are sending it to's name and then sign yours. Otherwise you just stuck a card in an envelope. I don't know, I am weird about that kind of stuff!!

@Adira: we do folded photo cards for that very reason - easier to display and we can include more photos as well as a message (we just write 3-4 sentences with major updates).

@sandy: I wish more of my friends/family did what you did! I'd love a photo card that was folded!!

I like getting photo cards or photos tucked inside cards, but I've never really seen the point of a card with no personal message on it. Just "Happy Holidays" and a picture of someone's family leaves me a little cold.
