@MamaG: 23 snaps. It's super easy- I can upload from my phone to the app in seconds. Then anyone who I have invited and signs up gets an email digest with any photos I upload that day, and they can download the app or go to the website but don't have to. Videos they can only see on the site or app, not in email. I just like how quick and easy it is to share pictures or videos with my family since they live all over.

@Maysprout: I don't think that's really very likely to happen, it was just a theoretical example. People do weird things though, when I used to work in marketing I had an ad sales guy who went through my Facebook albums (my privacy settings were poor at this time) to find info about me he could use to try and build a rapport. Mega creepy sales technique dude!

i post photos several times a week, but have always gone by the adage of if it's not something i would want out there for myself, then i won't post. so no pics of her on or talking about the potty or poop, no shaming pics, etc. when she's old enough to ask me to not take/post photos, i'll respect her wishes. i'm a photographer so taking and sharing the photos i take is also part of my business, so i want people to feel like they personally know me and the kind of person i am, which in part is my kiddo.

@ms.line: I think it's because we see more of what is happening with data/etc. All of my tech friends feel the same way. Very few post pictures of their LO and if they do, it's very limited.

@birdofafeather: I think those are some good guidelines.
@namaste: Yeah, that seems dead on!

I post pictures on FB and instagram. I have my facebook tightly locked down and I've removed everyone who I don't consider a true friend. I've blocked my MIL and SFIL as she shares every.single.picture I post. ( Even just a picture of me! ) It drove me nuts as she has a bunch of weirdos from conventions she has met on her fb, people she didn't know and had only met briefly. I have my instagram on private and only have a few people on it. My husband has a lot more friends on his account, so he rarely posts a picture of the kids on his.
This was something I never even thought about until I had my own kids. I never knew I'd be so strict about it!

Wondering how this question is related or not related to having a FB profile set up for your child.

I have always been pretty private about this sort of thing so my setting are locked down and I still limit what I post. But stories like this make me want to limit it even further - there are crazies out there.
