As summer fast approaches what were/ are your toddler swim/ beach must haves? Last summer she was less then a year and content to sit on a beach blanket or pool floaty but I know this year will be totally different! What are your recommendations?

I was also wondering if anyone used a floaty or is an almost 2 year old old enough for swimmies? Or is there another swimming aide?

No ideas for floating stuff, but baby powder is the magic tool to remove sand off of baby's and your limbs.

@autumn865: The puddle jumper is amazing as a swimming aide. She might be a little too small still, but I highly recommend!

The baby/toddler is actually in the water and can splash, unlike the big blow up floats. I think they're suggested through 24 months, so it may not be perfect for you, but I would definitely put a 2yo in there. They're cheap and small, so nice to have.
Another idea would be a Puddle Jumper. It would definitely last you longer than the float, and could be used at the beach. I think 2 is a good age for one (my nephew used one at 16 months & was fine even though it was a little big). Sadie's 15 months, but loves playing in the sand at the beach. Just get one of those cheap little baskets full of sand toys, and that will definitely occupy her!
