I got a set of Burt's Bees as a gift. I was leery of J&J after the big news thing about how they left potential cancer-causing chemicals in their products in the US, but were selling without those chemicals in other countries. I'll play it by ear what we'll buy after the Burt's Bees is used up.

yeah, I had personal issues with J&J as well, and just a few months ago a whole batch of Aveeno products were recalled because something dangerous was in it... so I was turned off from it. I really wanted something gentle.

We use burts bee baby wash and have really liked it. We use California Baby for sunscreen because our sun is allergic to the Aveeno baby brand. I would highly recommend either.

I say if you want the higher end products, go ahead and register for them - you will probably get them! And if you don't want to pay for them after your shower, then just get the J&J products.

@PurpleUnicorn: Are you able to add Burts Bees to your registry online? Because I know the BRU we registered at had loads of Burts Bees and another all natural line I can't remember the name of that is not owned by J&J. That way, at least people know you wants Burts and might go find it for you elsewhere.

The third article link here reads, "Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo sold in the U.S., Canada, China, Indonesia and Australia still contains quaternium-15, but according to the product labels, it isn't in versions of the products sold in eight other countries: Denmark, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the U.K."

I know people still use it, but I'm paranoid, lol!

We use burt's bees and really like it. We also use method's baby shampoo and lotion.

@PurpleUnicorn: right now at target, if you buy two burt's bees baby items you get a $5 gift card for a good size lotion, it's about 7.99 - so definitely more than J&J, but I think it smells delish the "starter set" is about $20 and that's what we were gifted, it came with a small thing of oil, a small soap, a container of diaper ointment, and a large sized lotion and a large sized shampoo/body wash.

We don't really use anything on Linus except Coconut Oil and occasionally Dr. Bronner's Soap. That's it. Coconut oil works for diaper rash, moisturising, massage, etc. I like that it's all natural and is great for my skin too,

We use Aveeno baby because my SIL used that on my niece and I love it.

Honestly the California baby et El stuff is waayyyy too expensive for me for day to day.

@PurpleUnicorn: Which province are you in? I'm in Calgary, AB and I can guarantee it's in-store at the Sunridge location.

We use J&J regular and have had no problems with it.

I use J&J body wash and California Baby lotion.

You could also register or just buy small sample sizes if they are available so you can try them out. I registered for and received lots of cute Burt's Bees and CA Baby stuff and my LO is super sensitive so we just use Cetaphil (gentle). I'm hoping she grows out of it because I love the way she smelled when I used the Burt's Bees stuff!
