@apis: Well, she's only 4 months, so she basically just get excited when I talk buuuut... she loves when I read Moo Baa La La La by Sandra Boynton. She always laughs. I think it's the ridiculous animal noises I make.

Both of mine, especially my 2-year-old, loooooooooove their Bible story book. They constantly look at it and Tractor Girl always brings it to me when I tell her to go get some books for Mommy to read.

My son is 2 and he asks for Perry. We bought early chapter books and one is Phineas and Ferb. He will sit and act like he is reading them all the time. When he was younger he loved a dog book.

@photojane: my 8 month old loves that book! She gets super excited when she sees it. Just saying "moo baa la la la" gets her attention. It's hilarious!

He LOVES this book called Peek A Who? The illustrations of Eric Carle books fascinate him. And anything with another baby's face in it! He's 8 months.

Good night moon and the Little Critter books are still some of her favorites. She really liked moo baa la la la and snuggle puppy, she still likes them but she'd flip out about them when she was younger (she's 2 now).

Her favorite seems to be "so big" at the moment. Though she rather eat it than read it.

Our 22 month old daughter has enjoyed "Little Blue Truck Goes to the City" for a long time now. The book is memorized and shows signs of being well loved. A variety of other books take short-term (2-3 weeks) favorite positions as well. Currently Sesame Street's "Too big for diapers" is in the favorite rotation as well as the Duck and Goose "Happy Easter" book and "Frosty the Snowman" has been a favorite since about November.

@lovebird: that's definitely a preference for LO as well. I'm not sure he quite gets the irony of trying to eat the board book of The Hungry Caterpillar.

LO is obsessed with Where is the Green Sheep? She is 11.5 months o,d and it has been her fave for the last 2 months now. She goes bonkers for that book.

M. only likes a few books (she's 15 months old). She's very specific. We can read her "Perfect Piggies", " Wheels on the Bus", "Baby Numbers" "Baby Colors" and "Five Little Monkeys" and that's it. Everything else is rejected.
Lala reads everything. She wouldn't mind if we read her the prospectus from our 401K. Just be prepared for all the questions!

@mewtill: I have not read it, but I've heard good things about it, especially the parts about how dads are amazing and brilliant and amazing. That was the bit I liked.

@mewtill: he loves the "peek a boo" page too. Also the "peek a moo" page. He gets this little smirk and starts giggling. He just loves the whole book. It was the first book he was ever interested in.

Mine loved Very Hungry Caterpillar from when she was an infant and she loves playing with caterpillars to this day!
Now she's into the bible, ballerina and animal books.
