Just curious! And do you skip your placebo days to avoid your period or prefer to have your period?

None! I need to get back on it actually but have been lazy about following up with my midwife. I was on Loestrin and plan to use it again. I never had any negative side effects. My period was usually very light and only 2-3 days (much different than when I am off the pill). I always took the placebo pills just to stay in the habit of taking BC since I can be fairly forgetful.

I was on tricyclen for 10 ish years before baby with zero negative side effects. I never took the hormone pills back to back in order to skip my period because I felt like it wasn't a good idea. Having a period while on them was a breeze anyway. Also, luckily got my period back right away within a month after I went off them. I'm not going on them again post baby though-using condoms instead even though they're a pain.

I'm not on any at the moment... but I've been on several different pills, the shot, and the implant.
I never really had any issues with the Pills - except for Yaz. Yaz turned me into a horrid person. I was never happy and always yelling at people. I also had bronchitis twice in 6 months on it and my asthma I'd out grown came back. I got off the pill and all my issues went away.
And I'd skip my placebos all the time. Either just toss them or start on my next pack depending on what I was feeling like that month.

As a sidenote I hate how insurance covers and deals with birth control and specific brands. I had to call my OB iand my insurance after I was charged $50 for my prescription which should've been zero cost based on the affordable care act. The guy from my insurance said that my birth control would NOT be covered for 9/10 brands unless the doctor wrote in a very specific way in which case it would be $0.
Am I the be only person that thinks that the naming and branding of birth control pills is out-of-control and ridiculous? I mean there are 17 different brands of the same medicine.. W T ever living F.

Beyaz. I skip placebos to avoid my period. My doctor and I discussed trying it after switching around on a few pills over the past few years because I was getting migraines every single period. Now I just don't have a period. I've been happy with them, though I haven't had much trouble with any hormonal BC except nuvaring, which made me suicidal.

@ldh112: That is the brand my doc gave me a 3-month sample supply of so I'm glad you like it. I haven't been on the pill for 5 years, which seems crazy when I think how long I was on it before TTC.

I took Lo/Overal (not sure on spelling) for like 12 years, though I haven't been on bc for over 10 years now, so I'm not sure they even still make it.

I was just put on Gildess last month. I'm actually told by my doctor to take it continuously(no placebo pills) to help prevent more endometriosis(just had surgery 2 months ago To remove some).

Until TTC starting in October, for 3.5 years I was taking Tri-cyclen lo. Never had a side effect.
