Gymboree for us. I bought DD a few really cute sleepers at 2.5 months so I went up to the 3-6 month size and they're tight! She's only in the 45% for height and weight too. I'm bummed because they were kind of expensive. I should add that 0-3 months in everything else is a little big on her still but she's out of newborn clothing.
What brands have let you down as far as sizing?

that stinks! I don't know yet as far as my own LO, but my nanny-LO is 19 months and wears 12 month carter's onesies and 12-18 months at gymboree..and the gymboree is huge on her! she can easily wiggle her shoulders right out. I'm not sure why that is or what percentile she is, though!

Hmm, I couldn't think where to put this...Your Little One or Style? Not sure!
Also, h&m is a little snug. 2-4 months really means 0-3 months in our case.

Gerber onesies are way off... My 3 month old was wearing size 12 months. They shrink a lot!
Funny about Gymboree... I always find that they run true to size or are a bit big. I've never used their sleepers though. Oh but one pair of toddler pajamas we got for DD did run a little small once.

Baby Gap! LO is still in 0-3 months in Baby Gap stuff (shes 4 months old tomorrow) but Gymboree sleepers in 3-6 fit her perfectly. But I think it kind of depends on the shape of your baby...I feel like Baby Gap stuff would fit a shorter, chubbier baby better and Gymboree fits the longer babies better...

@stiffaknee: I agree on baby gap--DD still swims in their 0-3 months! Which I usually don't have a problem if they run big because LO's aren't getting any smaller....unless, I bought something in particular for the season and they don't fit into it until the season is over with...then that's disappointing!

My 3 month old is the size of a 6 month old, but fits great in the 3-6 clothes (loosely, too) from First Impressions, Carters, Koala (the BRU brand) and some specialty shops. He is a "true to size" baby, I guess. The only thing is the GAP pants don't fit at all....
He is 16 pounds, almost 26 inches, 3 months, and cloth diapered and *still* fits "true to size" in most brands. I guess we're really lucky that everyone just bought from the same few brands.
Also, I can still squeeze him into the 0-3 from first impressions (but none of the others).

Like someone else said, I do think it depends on the proportions of your baby. My LO is 3.5 months and has not even come close to fitting in a single 3 to 6 month article of clothing (they're all too big).

Gerber onesies. They're TINY. The sleepers aren't so bad though.
I agree that it depends on the proportions. C is 100th in height and 90th in weight (about 17-18lbs and nearly 29in tall) and can still wear all of her 3-6 Gymboree and Carters stuff. She's tall and relatively skinny.

I'm with those saying gerber. Their stuff is always sooooo tiny! I don't think it's a proportion thing either because it's true for every LO I've cared for!

I find most things to fit generally true to size, if taking into account of the size chart. Penny is long (over 97th percentile) and skinny at 50th percentile. While waist wise, she can still fit into most 0-3 bottoms, she is almost 4 months and nearly completely transitioned to 3-6 (her 9 month sleepers aside!).
@HeatherlovesKenny: I actually prefer h&m sizing since she's so skinny. It seems that she's been wearing her 2-4 stuff there well for the longest!

I think Gerber is awful. My LO is a big girl in general (95th percentile in height and weight) so nothing is true to her size, but Gerber is so tiny!

Baby Gap fits my LO weird, like they're too short and wide for her. Carters seems to fit well though.

@stiffaknee: agreed~ gap runs really large! Cobi is 6 months and fits into both the 0-3 and 3-6 mos stuff.
I would say Carters is the worst. Their stuff is SO small!!
Circo by target was really weird too... maybe just the two items we got? We received a pair of jeans and a shirt from a friend, and both said NB size. When DS was born there was NO way he would fit in it yet. At 6 months old they fit him perfectly - and they are labeled NB!! So weird.

Maybe C is just a freak with Carters? I've heard SO many people say they run small but they fit her so well! She has a long skinny torso. They always fit her longer than other brands.

@sorrycharlie: See, I think they run a little big too. I am positive they just changed their sizing. I have older stuff that was given to me that fits her fine in 6m but the newer stuff in 6m is HUGE. I feel like 6m used to be 3-6 and now it's more 6-9.

@sorrycharlie: maybe only it's the smaller sizes?? cause my son is definitely not big for his age, around 25% percentile... and he fits in 6-9 mos... but most other brands he's still in 3-6.

@sorrycharlie: I haven't noticed between Carter's and Just One You for Target. I do think the Child of Mine stuff for Walmart might run a little small.
@Coco Bee: That's so weird... C is about 18lbs and almost 29in tall and can still wear the 6m size without it looking ridiculous. The 9m size is even a little baggy and a little too long.

@zippylef: Carters fit G perfectly and he's 80-90th percentile in height and weight... (We have gifted ones so I don't know where they were purchased. We have bought Carters from BRU, Carters store, and TJ Maxx)

@Mrs. Cowgirl: for toddler boys, they do run big! My son is 3 and wears a lot of 18-24 month at h&m! But infant clothing seems different, DD's sweaters are short but not tight and her dresses also seem short...but then again I can't wear h&m shirts because they always shrink and aren't long enough.
@zippylef: For us, Just One You by Carters does seem to run smaller than regular Carter's. Those were the first NB outfits she out grew. Carter's has always been pretty true to size.

Ha! I love all the comments about baby Gap. My short and fat 4 month baby loves that he can still fit into some 0-3 month stuff from them, and is 6-12 for everything else.

@cvbee: Really? We only have one pair of GAP pants and they are 3-6 and TOO SMALL even with a disposable diaper. 
All his other clothes are 3-6 (with a couple 0-3)

@pastemoo: this only goes to prove perhaps that the baby clothes people make all the stuff different sizes just to make us crazy, and make us buy the wrong size so that we'll have to buy more stuff!!!!

Baby Gap and Old Navy. LO is 10 months, 28" and 17lbs. The 6-12mo shorts and pants from Gap & ON swim on her!!

Gerber runs very small, period. Carter's run a little small but not as bad as Gerber. Gap fit my oldest son perfect and still does. At 3 he's very average and not slim nor chubby. Gymboree used to run big for him but now seems to be true to size except for their pants. Their clothes tend to run long if anything.
Now for my youngest, he is outgrowing everything before my eyes. He was born in the same season as his older brother but he's a lot longer. He's almost 5 months and 6 months clothes are tight already. He can wear 9 months now. I have a feeling he'll fit all the brands differently b/c he's longer.

@cvbee: completely agree! So frustrating. It's not like I'm going to try the clothes on her before we buy them either haha
I think the Gymboree pj's shrunk quite a bit too.
