I seem to have R's congestion and cough from day care. What can I take so it won't mess with my supply and safe for her?

I don't really have a ton of advice since I'm just getting over two colds and basically didn't take anything. I drank lots of hot tea though, which seemed to help a little bit!

I had a cold a couple weeks ago and ended up taking some delsym (cough syrup) because my cough was pretty bad. Only took it 2 days and I was fine and so was my supply (I did eat lactation cookies during that time to help)

Avoid sudafed and the like since they can affect your supply (though I have oversupply and was able to take them with no effect). Have you tried a neti pot?

Neti pot to loosen everything up then original afrin to dry up! IBprofin will help too.
Hot water with lemon and honey.
Afrin is 100% safe and works liek a dream. I have used it the past three times I have had a cold and was EBF. Feel better mama!

I just loaded up on vitamins, a multi, a zinc and a c. I tried cough medicine one night but I panicked about my supply and didn't do it again. Tea with honey and lemon helped a bit.

RE Afrin
From Lactmed: Although no information exists on the use of oxymetazoline specifically during breastfeeding, very little should reach the infant through breastmilk because of the local administration and limited absorption into the maternal bloodstream.

Nothing really . . . at least nothing that will help dry you up/ take care of your congestion.
